Discovered the Riverside Resort on our vacation to the area in Sept. 2013 after my husband went fishing with a guide associated with the resort. The location of this resort can't be beat! Decided we needed another get away to Homosassa and knew the Riverside Resort is where we wanted to stay! The manatee excursion is a must, this is a once in a life time experience!! Our captain "Jack" was amazing, he explained how to interact with the manatees and pointed out all the other wildlife the area has to offer. All kinds of activities to do at this resort.
The Crab House restaurant was good, the evening we were there the special was Shrimp & Grits...it wasn't the Charleston, SC variety, but was very good. If you like a fruity adult drink the "Monkey Juice" is to die for! We enjoyed sitting on the docks and watching the boats come in. The suites were clean and having a balcony to sit on after a long day was very relaxing. Only bad thing I will say is that if you are on the 1st floor and their are guest above you, it is very loud. The walls are very thin. But other than that I would stay here again.
Wasn't expecting much of the Homosassa Springs State Park, but I'd have to say this is another do not miss. What a wonderful park, the fishbowl is one of the most incredible sights I've ever seen!!
