We wanted to go to warmer weather in January for a week. We found this place and it's as lovely as the write ups said. The ocean is near enough so you can open your balcony door a bit and fall asleep listening to it. Unfortunately we didn't book early enough and had to stay part time in 2 separate rooms. It meant we had to move mid-week but they made it as seamless as possible. The second room is primarily for couples and was larger and beautifully appointed. If you can get it book 401 (the same owner also has 307 & it looks lovely also.) Our first room was very nice as are most of the rooms, I'm sure (one advantage to some of the rooms is they have bed space for children so be sure to ask for what you need. The location is quiet and the beach is great. With a little driving you can find many things to do. Grocery and drug stores are not far away. The place has an on site restaurant which seemed a bit expensive for breakfast but was nice & resonable for dinner.

Room Tip: Rooms 401 and 307 are top notch & 5 stars with little extra ammenities left by the owner. Other...

It is nice to hear that my guests appreciate all the little extras Evelyn and I put into our suits 307 and 401. We have stayed in both our suites and made them as user friendly as we could for anyone arriving from a long trip to get here.
***Remember that all the suites at Island Beach Resort are privately owned and each is very different. We guarantee you that our suites 307 and 401 are among the very best and we strive to make your stay a 5 star experience. . David and Evelyn

The condo I rented for the week was recently remodeled and new everything. Bed was perfect, as good at the best hotels. The view is unbelievable-Beach is right there and I fell asleep hearing the waves. Fantastic! It is a laid back, friendly environment- ran on the beach and on the sidewalks, felt safe and people were friendly.
The restaurant bar, on the beach, had fantastic favorable food, beach food but cooked with love, care. Strawberry Daiquiri- the perfect consistency and coldness. It's a place where vacationers and locals mix.

With all of that said, when you pull up, you may get the wrong impression. It’s an older 4 level hotel outside of the condo- but everything is clean, well kept and beautifully maintained. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The only thing that I would ask that the hotel look into reliable Internet access. Though on vacation, reliable and quick Internet is really important to me. Was a bit frustrating at times- had to cancel some business meetings due to service dropping. Not sure how they could fix that- but I would be back if they could get that done- Heck I would even buy one of the units!

Room Tip: 3rd floor, you see the ocean, southside is further away from bar- but without kids you may to be clo...

The WiFi system is inspected on a regular basis and kept in good operating order. It does need to be reset on occasion and the front desk needs to be told about a problem. A common problem during the winter months when Hutchinson Island is well occupied is the Comcast cables on the Island can only carry so much traffic before the system stars to slow down and drop. I wish this review had mentioned a suite number as there could be a spot problem we are not aware of.
Judging by the date of this review it is possible that the guest stayed prior to a system check last year where we discovered one of the 16 routers we have thru out the building was bad.
Thank you for your review and information.....

We rented #304 from the owner and he was very nice to work with. The condo is clean, compfy., and well stocked. The balcony is the entire length of the condo. - bedroom, living room/kitchen. We really enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony watching and hearing the waves and sunrise with dolphin jumping 50 ft away in the ocean. The heated, clean pool is directly below the balcony. We enjoyed surf fishing right on the beach and also a charter. There are lots of wonderful restaurants close by and one onsite with a Tiki Bar. The Navy Seal Museum in Ft. Pierce is a must see. We did miss our recliners at home but I found out after we left that the rocker does pull out into a recliner.LOL

GREAT 2 wk.vacation!!

We just returned from 3 nights in Unit 403. It was a tastefully decorated one-bedroom unit with outstanding views of the ocean, courtyard, and heated pool. Very comfy beds. Could use a little TLC, but the beachy-feel for these Maine residents more than compensated for this. We hoped to do some of our own cooking with the provided kitchen amenities. However, upon arrival we were lacking the basics. Would have liked to know we needed to bring paper towels, wash towels, condiments, etc. But overall, we loved it here and would return. (Next time we will know). A quiet, beautiful place to stay.

Sat inside due to high winds with close view of ocean. That was pleasant. Waiter came over right away to take our drink orders but had to flag him down after 15 minutes. Needless to say wasn't impressed with the service - he had 10 clients. His tip reflected his performance. Next time perhaps.

My wife and I stayed at the Island Beach Resort Jensen Beach Florida this past March for ten days. The resort is on south Hutchinson Island, a barrier Island Between Fort Pierce and Stuart Florida. All the units are differently appointed to the owners taste,no two are the same. Before I give you my feelings about the resort and our unit I would like to say a little about Hutchinson Island to any one who is not familiar with the Island. Hutchinson Island is not your wild and crazy beach town. In fact their are no towns on the Island really at all until to get to Ft. Pierce up north. No boardwalks, movie theatre, no mini golf courses, bowling alleys, no salt water taffy or many surf shops. It's laid back with the beach its biggest attraction. That doesn't mean you can't find things to do you can but there not right in your face you have to look. There's one large Supermarket on the Island in Stuart, a few small strip malls north of the Jensen beach round-a-bout.A seven eleven type outlet attached to a Texaco station.A CVS.The biggest disappointment for us was there was no place to rent bikes on the Island at all in spite of the fact that their are miles of bike lanes on Ocean Drive and A1A.There are many ways to get on the beaches all with free parking and bathrooms. You need a car there is no public transportation. Ok now for our stay at the Island Beach. This is a Condo it is one of the few places that will rent less than a month during the high season Dec.-March. For me calling the Island Beach a resort is a bit of a stretch. There no Tennis courts, no play area, no gym room, or arcade. Heck there no suffleboard either. What they do have is a 175 at least car parking lot, a great restaurant called Shuckers on the beach a gift shop, pool two BBQ pits and a beachfront location.Oh and two elevators, one under repair. Our unit was number 414 sunset view. It was very nice overall. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans dishes etc.It was a full kitchen except there was no washer, dryer. If you needed one you used to washers on the first floor coins needed. We had a nice view from our two balconies a king size bed two flat screen tv's. The floors were stone tile and there were area rugs. You could eat at the counter or set up at a table in the living room by the sliding glass doors on out on the balcony. There were even wine glasses hanging up in the kitchen. The biggest fault of the unit was that there was only one closet which was locked for use of the owner. We had no place to hang our jackets, pants caps. It was only a minor problem with us but if you were staying longer or had dresses what to do?Also the walls were scuffed in some places I took care of this myself with some soap and a sponge. There was a dvd player and games and puzzles. Also found were loads of beach stuff, toys even a vacuum cleaner. The weather was not the greatest while we were at the resort, cool days (60's) and lots of wind and clouds only a few days in the 70's,80's We walked on the beach collected loads of shells for the grandkids,Hey who wants to go to Shuckers for a drink? All in all I can't complain compared to the cost of a hotel room in season the Island Beach Resort is a good deal for those who want a real apt. for less than a month.Oh and the longer you stay the greater the discount!!

Room Tip: This was a condo resort. All units are owned by private owners. Resort is only four stories high so...

The best part of this condo was the bedroom. The California King was very comfortable & the linens & pillows allowed us to get a good nights sleep. The kitchen was well stocked w/dishes, glasses, etc.The bathroom & decor needs updating but the living room furniture was comfy. I found the price to be a little on the high side for what we got though. The pool area & patio area were clean & a nice place to hang out. Being able to use these amenities as well as being right on the beach was great. The restaurant on the premises, Shuckers was a fun place to hang out and the service, food & entertainment were great. They require guests to use their keys to get into the living & pool area so that the general public that go to Shuckers don't have access to our amenities.
