Overall a very good place. We had rented our unit through VRBO. We weren't beachfront, we had a nice view of the waterway. Enjoyed watching the boats.
Office staff very friendly, check in quick and efficient.
This is not a luxury resort so don't come here expecting that. BUT.....it has a great pool with plenty of sun loungers and chairs, super location on the beach....we walked quite far in both directions. Good charcoal bbq's available. (Buy your own charcoal.)
Just be aware, not an issue for us, some of the parking spaces are across the road.
Groceries nearby. Restaurants too.The other guests were all friendly.
I would return here.

Thank you for your review of our property. Holiday Villas III does have Gulf front units and there are also units that face the Intracoastal waterway. Our pool and sundeck are very popular with our guests. The majority of our units have parking on building side of Gulf Blvd.. There are some units, just a few, that have assigned parking across the street and we do our best to advise our guests in those instances. The on-site office is available 7 days a week to answer any questions you may have regarding any unit that we manage. You may reach us at 877-444-4833.

This resort has nice outside spaces. unfortunately, they are right outside the door of Unit 1...the pool pump, the grills, the shuffleboard court, the shower from the beach. In addition, the 2nd bedroom has no window, and the bathroom, has a door to the pool area. So in the morning, you get awakened at 7am to the maintenece team opening the pool, and constant clanking sound of the pool gate.

I am sure the rest of the condos are fine...just don't make the mistake of getting Unit 1.

Room Tip: Mattress like a brick.

The family enjoyed being here. It was booked as sleeping 6 so when my family of 6 went we really had a tough time. Assumed there would be a fold-out couch for 1 or 2 people, Master bedroom for 2, and the second bedroom with 2 'full' beds was a stretch to fit all 6 of us. But, I'm not going to complain, we figured it out like we always do, and we had a lot of fun staying here. Kitchen came in handy for breakfasts and our balcony, although inset and on the 1st floor (raised above the parking lot level) gave a great evening view of the ocean and sunset. We could watch the kids right out on the beach from our balcony as they are teenagers. The place is safe feeling, and the town is beautiful.....and just a short drive south on Gulf Blvd to those junkie but fun souvenir shops, ice cream and candy shops, John's Pass you gotta go.

Anyone who has done beach condos before knows what these places are like so if they complain about sand and some pealing wall-paper then I just dismiss their review as chalking it up to your typical complainer entry. You know those people, the ones that would complain if they got locked in a candy store because they got a stomach ache!

Overall, the place was great and the other people in the condo were friendly, respectful, quiet enough (even though it was Spring Break week). The pool was bathtub warm, which we all liked. This place was a great place to stay and base our operations for our Tampa vacation!

Room Tip: We just got assigned our room by the travel club. If I had to choose I would have chosen a higher floor, just for a better view, but even on the first floor (1 floor above the parking lot level and ground level) we had a great balcony overlooking the ocean.

We booked our condo online about 10 months before our vacation and I am so glad we did! This place is awesome! The pictures online were not the same as the condo but that didn't matter! Indian Shores is great for people of the "mature set". (we are 40+) and had no kids with us.
Initally we were supposed to arrive well before the onsite rental closed but due to horrible traffic we were about 2 hours late. We called from the highway and the representative was very accomodating and gave us clear instructions of how we could get into our condo and then "just catch up tomorrow".(FYI..get insructions just in case for arrival anytime).
Parking was under the building and easliy marked for all guests.
The condo was perfect, clean and the view was amazing! Our condo was just over the pool , had sun all day had amazing gulf views and wonderful sunsets! The kitchen was fully stocked and ready! (we ate out every night). The furniture was comfortable and nicely arranged for a quiet TV night or cards.
The beds were a little too frim for our tastes but after a day in the sun, we didn't notice. zzzzzzz
But every morning..wow....coffee on the balcony watching the gulf waves, beach walkers and countless birds. We walked the beach every morning, smiing and a "good morning" to all.
Holiday Villas III is just off the main roadway but not too close. There are countless restaurants and fun things to do nearby but at the same time, its peaceful and relaxing. We had done the "disney" trips in previous year and this year was for us!
The pool was wonderful, heated and clean. We spent some very relaxing moments there under the sun in provided chairs without alot of crowding and (no glass) beverages. The guests around the pool were very friendly.
There are laundry facilties on every floor and they are also clean and accessible.
The sunsets are amazing. The beach is clean and well maintained. It is not a "party" area.
Our issues with the facilities: the main bathroom. The shower was VERY slow to drain so I looked in the drain and pulled out long black hair. I have very short red hair and my husband is foliicularly challenged, On the 5th day, the toilet ran non stop, eventually we turned off the water supply to prevent overflow and flooding. We immediately reported the bathrrom issues to the representative at the desk and she wrote a note to share. Nothing happened. That was a major disappointmnet to an otherwise great vacation. We did not enjoy turning on and off the water to the main toilet for 2 days.
I would 100% return again despite the bathroom issues!

We arrived to find that the condo was NOTHING like what we were promised. We were told it was just like the pictures, except the kitchen hadn't been updated. In reality, nothing had been updated in at least 25 years. The wall paper was peeling off, and there was mold throughout. It smelled like feces. The owner had no explanation. It was truly a bait and switch scam. Horrible.
