We spent the weekend at this fun little B&B. The owners, Sergio and Jose were great, very helpful and full of information and fun stories. This B&B is located in Inglis/Yankeetown, not much there. You need to drive 10 miles for up scale restaurants, but there are some local fried fish places. But the area is so lovely, the Gulf, salt marshes, the beautiful Withlacoochee River. We went fishing off the bridges and along the marsh like the locals, got tips from the Captains Cove bait shop (our Innkeepers sent us there), and rode the bikes supplied by the B&B along the Riverside Drive and looked at the old (and some new) houses. It was a hot August weekend on the West Florida coast, but we had a great time. We tried to explore the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve, but too many yellow flies in August. But the place is a beautiful, it's worth checking out in cooler weather. We had an adventourous weekend. A great place for people who aren't afraid to get off the beaten path!
We really liked the Pine Lodge, breakfast was lovely and tasty. Our room was vey nice, very clean and well equiped. If you go, get one of the two suites with the sitting area, very nice extra space. Be sure to enjoy the pool on the property, it was a welcome place to cool off on a hot August day. One issue,if you want to canoe or kayak you have to drive into Crystal River or Dunnellon to rent a kayak. No one rents them in Ingles or Yankeetown.
This is a lovely little gem of a B & B, in an area that doesn't have a lot of lodging. We loved it and plan to return in the fall.
