“Super food”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

Best fish in South Florida. The selection, freshness, and preparation is great. The staff is friendly and the place is small and funcky. The old negative is that they don't take reservations. Come early for a table.

“Great Atmosphere, Excellent food. For Fish Lovers only.”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

The place is hard to find but all the locals know it because once you find it in the strip mall off US 1 and Indiantown Rd, you will realize why it's a local favorite. The Food Shack packs the people in starting at about 6 pm so get there early if you want a spot at the bar. The restaurant is divided into two sections. A long waiting list for the left side restaurant, and a bar cocktail atmosphere on the right side. You can eat on both sides. The menu is almost exclusively fish, but if you love fish try anyone of their catches over a bed of lettuce. Well worth the $ 25.00 price. NO cocktails, only wine and beer. The crowd is upscale and dressed well, most of the time.
BIG TIP ----- There are two doors to get into restaurant, the main door, and a less conspicuous one on the right side. If the wait is long, and they do have seats out in front of the place to wait, go in through the right door and look for a seat at the bar or one of its cocktail tables. Same food, and way cooler atmosphere. Better for couples only.

“Always excellent”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Sit at the counter and watch what they are making. if you are early enough, before the rush, you can talk to the chefs and find out what is good today. I had a horseradish encrusted mahi (dophin) served on greens that was amazing.

“Creative menu perfectly executed served by foodies”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

We've been to foodShack (and their sister restaurant, Leftovers) a number of times. Their menu is brilliant, the execution is flawless and the front of the house folk seem to all be foodies. They have truly captured how local proteins (i.e. fresh local fish) should be showcased - texture, spice, unique flavor profiles, presentation (both color and shape). Wonderful flavor diversity - Be it red onion garlic sriracha chilli cheese sauce complimenting the most basic of comfort foods, mac and cheese or a brilliantly simply balanced mango / key lime dressing plated under sweet potato crusted grouper (which I might add is cooked on a griddle with butter, not dropped into a deep fryer).

“Don't Pass by the Food Shack”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

In a small space located in a shopping plaza, Little Moir's Food Shack has a plentiful menu of not-your-standard offerings. Mom ordered the sweet-potato encrusted dolphin over a greens mix including apple and watermelon: very yummy. Dad ate the blacked wahoo, coconut rice, and fries: A+. Daughter had the blacked fish sandwich and plantains: A+. Son ordered the Indoroni which is chicken and mac n cheese flavored with a garlic chili sauce: his verdict was boredom, but that's how he is about many things. I tasted it and it delivered in flavor and heat. The wait service was very good, the food arrived pretty quickly, and it was all fresh. Our meals along with 2 sodas came to $65. If ever in the area again, we would definitely return.
