“A great tour around a great island.”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

Looking at Amelia Island on a map we decided to go and pay a visit. We noticed a trolley bus parked at the end of the main street and decided to give it a go. There wasn't much information but a notice in the trolley of what time it was leaving. We had to ask the lady in a nearby store if it was operating and informed us that it was. This did not bother us at all as it added to the charm of a small island town!!

The driver came and she was a lovely lady and even started the tour with only 3 of us on the bus! As I said before we knew nothing about Amelia Island but after the 1 1/2 hour drive we knew a lot more. The driver was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the town and surrounding areas. The houses that she drive past where beautiful.

The speaker system worked well and the bus was clean. The plastic roll down windows were rolled down due to the December weather, but you could still see fine through them. A little advice for people that find sitting on wooden seats bothering, you may want to bring a small pillow!!

A great tour and I would recommend this tour to anyone.

“Waited and Waited”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

4 of us couples called in advance about the Trolley. We were told that the trolley has 2 scheduled trips each day of the historic district. We all showed up at the Trolley stop 15 minutes early. The trolley never came. Our first call to the service we spoke with a live person who said the trolley was running a bit late. Several calls were made thereafter because we had been waiting and waiting. We kept hearing an automatic answer service about their trips and times. We left our cell phone numbers to call us back. To finish up here, we threw away nearly an hour waiting for a trolley that never came. To this date, we have not heard from the Trolley service for an explanation or apology. All of us couples are in our 60's and never had a tour service go so bad!

“Need Updated Equipment”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

The tour itself is very informative and interesting. Connie was knowledgeable and tried her best to make up for the poor PA system that was very distracting. There are beautiful homes and we got to learn a bit about each of the families that lived there as well as a good history of Fernandina Beach. The bus made some stops at awkward locations and when idling the smell of diesel was strong. It also stalled a couple of times. The step up to the bus is high and may prove tricky for someone with difficulty walking. I think they need to update their equipment as the tour itself was worth every penny.

“Fun on the Amelia Island Trolley!”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

My husband and I took the trolley tour on this past Friday afternoon. Connie was very knowledgeable and extremely nice! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, which took us all around the area. We paid $14/person ($1 off from the Hampton Inn!), and it was well worth every penny.

“HISTORIC TROLLEY TOUR”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

Very good tour of the historic district with Connie driving the tour trolley. She knew her facts, was a good driver and seemed to take a personal interest in making sure everyone could hear and she answered questions as we traveled. A bit pricey, but worth it to learn of the history and see the homes/business on Amelia. About a 2 hr venture.
