What a great little place! Super clean, great location, quiet and friendly. We stayed in unit 41, which is a 2-bedroom apartment, and we were very pleased with our stay. The unit was renovated and very clean, comfortable, with everything you need supplied (such as coffee filters for the coffee makers, with a few complimentary water bottles and granola bars, nice touch!). The location is breathtaking, right on the ocean, with a cute little beach and a nice, very well maintained pool. Don't miss the sunset at Sunset park just a few steps away!
thanks so much for a very lovely stay, we'll be back!

If you are looking for a luxury property, this isn't it. What it is, is a bargain for waterfront accommodations. The grounds are nicely landscaped, well maintained and immaculate and the 'beach' as is common with many properties on the keys is fronted by a seawall, is lovely with chaises, chairs, side tables, covered tiki huts with picnic tables. It is centrally located for tripping around the keys. yet it's location on key colony beach off marathon proper is quiet and friendly. The folks who live in Key colony beach city are an active bunch and there are lots of bike/walking trails. everyone greets each other with a warm 'good morning'. A few restaurants nearby, Sparky's and Cabana Breezes. I'll be posting those reviews soon.

Back to the Inn....there is ample parking and laundry on site should you need it. two BBQ grills under tiki huts on the beach. The pool is heated and nice, yet it closes at dusk, which I thought was a little odd. I didn't have the occasion to want to swim at night so it wasn't a bother for me. Noodles and aquabells are available for use, chaises, chairs and umbrella tables.

It is a two story property - with no elevator - just a note for those who travel with lots of stuff, you do have to lug it up the stairs. There are baggage carts available under the breezeway to ferry your luggage from the parking lot to your room or to the base of the staircase. That was quite helpful. Each unit has a private balcony. We had unit 31 almost the farthest back from the beach/water but still has a slice of a view from the balcony and full view from entrance on the second floor. The unit was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was tiny and tough for two people to navigate at the same time, but easy enough to figure that out. It was well equipped, blender, toaster,

There is a little park adjacent to the property called 'Sunset Park", I will review separately, but it is like the cherry on top! concerts on one sunday a month and every night sunset (when there is one to be seen) serenades. Fun! We also happened to be there on St. Patrick's day. Key Colony beach has its own little parade, what a hoot! they through beads, candy, jello shots. Grand!

Another great thing about this property is they do not require a deposit and has a 24 hour cancellation with no penalty! I think that is pretty unheard of in any prime vacation destinations! We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: I don't think any room would be particularly bad.....But having not seen others than ours I can...

We stayed here as part of a car tour along the Keys. The location is excellent, and would provide a great base from which to tour all of the Keys by car, in addition to being a great holiday destination in itself. Quiet location on Ocean Drive, with a lovely little beach and outlook ocean side. Very large and comfortable appartment with kitchen, all the benefits of appartment living with fast and convenient hotel style check in. Friendly staff too. Can thoroughly recommend Key Colony as a destination, unless of course you are after the nightlife of Key West! Don't miss the local snorkelling tours, and if you have transport a trip out to eat at Porky's at Marathon. Great part of our holiday.

Based on other ratings, we gave this place a try and we were SO impressed...nice,clean and you cannot beat the price! It is in a great, quiet location! While you can't compare this to a luxury hotel, the Continental Inn offers many amenities, especially those traveling with family. Having a small kitchen was extremely convenient. Our family gathered every morning to watch the beautiful sunrise from the beach. Even though it is not much of a beach, there are two very nice beaches located a short drive away--Sombrero and Bahia Honda State Park. The pool is nice for those who just want to relax in the sun without the sand. Before we left, we booked time for the Christmas holidays. We will definitely be back to the Continental Inn!

We have been visiting the Inn for the past 10 years. We are Miami residents and consider this location our home away from home. The Inn offers our family the amenities we need. The beach is the perfect backdrop, especially with small children. And yes, I agree with other viewers...this is a hidden gem and we all have our little secrets...this is one of them!

On your way into Marathon hang a left at about MM53 and enter the beautiful community of Key Colony Beach.Booked a condo with two queen beds for five nights and couldn't have made a better choice. The grounds are beautiful with a nice heated pool, tiki huts and gas grills for guests' use in the beach area, and loads of chairs and lounges around the pool and at the beach. You can easily pull a lounge chair into shady spots if you don't want to fry in the sun. The place is perfect for doing nothing. Sit on the beach and watch the sunrise then be entertained watching the pelicans diving and the fishing boats coming and going. A couple of bar/restaurants (Sparky's Landing and the Key Colony Inn) and a breakfast and lunch spot(Leigh Ann's) are an easy walk away, easier than driving. Sparky's was jammed every night with parking difficult. Our room (#12) was very clean although I would prefer one king bed next time. The room had furnishings that were too large and too numerous for the space. Kitchen appliances were adequate. The AC was very good but we didn't have it on much. We slept at night with the windows open catching a nice breeze even though it was 85-86 degrees every day we were there. The place seems to be populated largely with 55 plus regulars who know each other. We stayed here several years ago in one of the rooms at the beach end of the building with a great view of the ocean and great ocean breezes. Not sure if those rooms are readily available for rental. The rate for our room was very reasonable with AAA discount.

Room Tip: Try for a king bed room if you don't need two beds.
