As an owner since circa 1998, I never stayed here until 4 yes ago as I exchanged through RCI. It was OK at the time; More hotel than timeshare. The next year visible improvements to the units and docks were obvious, although it seemed too "open" to me. WHAT A CHANGE HAS OCCURRED!
In addition to the granite counters, the flat screens, and the furnishings, the small pool was well maintained and the hot tub was cleaned and sanitized regularly, a significant improvement. But the most notable change was the security and privateness. The security gate now is now opened ONLY with the code, and the visibility of "live" security on premises provides a feeling of privacy and security that you expect at a resort complex.
The staff, from front desk, maintenance and housekeeping crew, and security personnel was absolutely warm and helpful. While talking to other guests poolside and dockside and watching the fishermen clean their catch, several people expressed how fortunate I was to own here. I have to agree. I left for home this year with the pride of ownership renewed. Looking forward to next year already.

This place is somewhat difficult to find, so do your homework. The sofa bed was not made up, and when I asked about it, I was told where the linens were stored. (They want them to be fresh.)
The rooms were large with a full kitchen, which we didn't need, spending only one night. There's a great little seafood joint a short walk from the Inn. Children were shouting and playing outside our room until 11:30 p.m. the night we were there, so sleep was elusive. There was no one available at the reception desk.

We left the anchorage today and we left on a sour note. Our first day was pleasant even though there is an issue with parking only one car per room any other cars have to park a hike down the road for $10 a night the room sleeps 4 so 2 couples with two cars & someone had to pay extra. Our plan was to hang out by the pool check out then head home when we checked out we were hounded by the office staff for four pool towels. Apparently their towels are made out of gold. Instead of arguing with the staff I decided to pay 10$ for one extra towel so I would not ruin my weekend. My husband went upstairs because we thought we left something in the room and the cleaning staff was rude and made the comment to hhim " you could cleaned up better " the kids left 3 candy wrappers on the patio (Easter Sunday) I decided to leave because I was tired of being questioned about pool towels. At this hotel you feel like you are accomadating them. Not hospitable at all. Office staff unhelpful and rude. Cleaning staff wants you to leave the room spotless to make their job easy. We weren't quite sure what to expect based on reviews but thought that the value and location would be great after a day exploring the Everglades on our way to Key West. Thankfully this ended up being one of the highlight accommodations for us.

A recent review said that the place was a bit dated but we found room 506 to be the opposite. It seems recently renovated and was very clean and spacious. Modern bedding, not one but two flat screen TVs, big lazy boy recliner, small but modern/clean bathroom, and the highlight is the huge balcony the runs the length of the unit.

As promised, we were able to spot some dolphins in the morning prior to leaving which wrapped up a great stay.

Can't say enough good things about the check in and check out staff. Especially the lady who was very complimentary of my fiancé's engagement ring and gave well wishes to us on our relationship.

Highly recommended.

Docked at their face dock a 45 ft sailboat this past weekend for an overnight stay. The front desk staff, Valeria and Sara, were super friendly and helpful, the 2 full bathrooms by the marina were clean and ample, there are two fairly new BBQs by the dock (which we did not utilize) and we were provided with 50 amp power, water and free Wi-Fi. The swimming pool was clean and refreshing.

We arrived late in the evening and were met by a very helpful security guard who got us all settled. Having booked last minute, we didn't really read the check in procedure properly so would have been absolutely lost without him. The Apartment was very spacious apart form a tiny bathroom. The apartment also had a lovely long balcony. It was clean but very dated;( good facilities with pool and jacuzzi. However there is no bar or a restaurant there (the is one next door which is rather hopeless) and the reception in only open limited hours. All in all if you need a quiet base between the Keys and the Everglades but don't expect much happening there.

The Anchorage is always a good place to stay. Plus they are remodeling rooms and replaced furniture. Very relaxing, great views with a friendly staff. Been visiting the Anchorage for 4-5 years and love it.
