"Run down" are the best words to describe this place! This was the worst hotel experience on our Florida road trip. The room was clean but so run down that it felt dirty. Especially the bathroom area was very ugly. Many dark strange spots, holes in the walls etc. We had a room on the first floor. The area outside was dirty. We could not look out of the window because of trees and leaves. The room felt badly ventilated and damp. Very dark too because of the "jungle" outside. The hotel area wasn't inviting either (pool, beach area etc). Not a place for swimming. Breakfast was below medium standard too. We will never return to this hotel.

We tried the restaurant Snook's next door, but we had a bad experience here too. Very rude waiters. Loud music.

Room Tip: The professional pictures all look great, but none of the rooms in the main building have a view to this area. All windows are blocked by trees as far as we could see. Pick another hotel!

Selected location as close to mainland if a hurricane hit! On the plus side the resort was quiet so almost private use of pool and loungers, easy parking and large enough room with huge flatscreen tv. On the minus the dock was fenced off as falling into sea, coast too shallow for any activities, no shade around pool and most loungers falling apart. Internet was a challenge with reception only on landing stairway! Free continental breakfast adequate but repetitive and breakfast area a biting bug fest. Main downside was the rooms have no balcony save a couple on end of building. All other rooms have a window facing a high stand of trees bit claustrophobic and nowhere to dry towels etc. Close to shops.

Room Tip: pay extra for an end room with balcony

Had a wonderful stay, big room, with King Size bed and clean bathroom.
Free Breakfast though only cold items, could do with some sausages and eggs.
Small pool but was not occupied and shared with only 2 other children at the time.
Next door restaurants are nice but need some beach benches so we can enjoy the sunset.

Room Tip: Good for a stay if you plan to just go halfway within the Keys, they don't have a private beach so no choice but to go to another hotel or state park with beach access. Ample parking though and walking distance to Burger King and across the road have many eating places for dinner.

We changed plans spontaneously, and stayed one night at this place. The cheapest room we were offered was 138$, but when I asked for the booking.com price we got that one: 88$. So, check prices online and book online or negotiate the price.

The room itself was quite dark (probably because of the dirty windows), but otherwise clean enough, and ok for one night. The bed is definitely to soft and I was quite tense in the morning.

What we liked at this place is the little beach behind the hotel. Laying in a sunbed under a palm tree, the calypso music floating over from the restaurant next door, a bit Caribbean. But no swimming because of the jellyfish and other animals better to avoid.

Was told it was clean and everything in working order. Ice machines on all 3 floors don't
work. Was told to come to the lobby. 10 to 15 minute wait depending on how many people
was waiting for one person. Then was gave a sandwich bag with ice. Stools had to be flushed
5 to 6 times to empty. Sink was clogged up for shaving and teeth care. Micro had no plate
so coffee went all over.Door had problems closing. Pillows were so hard used bath towels.
Do yourself a big favor find another. It was truly a DUMP.

Room Tip: Find another place to stay.
