“Great Stay!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

We had a FANTASTIC experience at this hotel and would definitely return if we were headed back to the Key Largo area. The service provided by the staff was fantastic from front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff. The only one hiccup that we did have in service was the young lady at the front desk in the morning who was texting while she was talking to me.
The rooms at this location are fantastic. We were on the first floor facing the pool so we were able to walk right out the back door either to the pool or down the pathway to the water. The small "beach" that the hotel has is nice for lounging or watching the sunset, but if you are looking for the real ocean experience, you can drive just a short ways down the road and find it. The hotel does have a "bar" (a older gentleman with a cooler, a few bottles of liquor and a pet parrot). It's extremely informal, but more than you would normally receive from a Hampton Inn so it was appreciated. Very "island-y" feel.
The breakfast that the hotel served was also very good. In true Hampton fashion, they change it up every morning so you aren't eating the same thing every day.
Again, overall great experience that I would return to or recommend to my friends and family. Keep up the good work!

Room Tip: Pool view rooms on the first floor are the best - you can walk right off the balcony and down the pa...

Our 4 night stay was perfect the staff were very helpful and kind the room was excellent . Loved the pool area and tiki bar. The breakfast was good with a wide variety of great great food . Our two teenagers loved the waffle maker. Every where was spotlessly clean . Lucie who worked the evening shift was especially helpful giving us loads of tips on where to go and good places to eat. Can't fault the Hampton Inn and would defiantly recommend to a friend !!!

Room Tip: All rooms are good but the rooms facing the pool are better .

Went for a few days and LOVED this hotel. Easy to visit Miami and Key West. Typical HI breakfast. EXCELLENT Staff service and housekeeping. Not the best beach, but definitely the best sunset view. Nice Tiki Bar and pool.

Room Tip: On Overseas Highway near banks, Supermarkets, KMart and great restaurants.

This place is worth every penny. First off, the entire staff is very friendly and genuine. Tia and Chavon have the answers for any questions you may have. They went above and beyond in everything they did for us. From recommending where to eat, to calling and scheduling a glass bottom boat tour. On our second day, my 6 year old lost her flip flops. The girls printed "wanted" fliers and stuck them all over the hotel featuring a "big reward". The entire staff was on the lookout.

On the first morning I slept in and housekeeping woke me up at 9am (my bad for not posting do not disturb). They made a note of that and switched to cleaning my room later in the afternoon for the rest of the week as not to disturb me if i slept in again. Very considerate.

The rooms were very clean and quiet. We got some drinks to stock the fridge for the week and were very comfortable.

The breakfast was fantastic every morning, a great way to get going. It would have been nice if the hotel had it's own restaurant, but I don't think it's big enough to support it.

It was a great place for kids. we hung out at the pool or the small beach every day, with visits from manatees, mango the bar bird, and the whole gaggle of iguanas behind the pool (some really big ones too).

Will definitely come back next time i go to the keys

My wife and I have visited many, many hotels in our lives--from business trips to much needed getaways, and none of workers compare to these people! The people at Hampton Inn (from the manager to the lovely ladies at the front desk) are wonderful! Lucy, Lisa, David, Paul, Tony, Charone and the other workers must take "nice pills" before reporting to work. These people were consistently pleasant, helpful and professional for the three week (business) duration of our stay, almost eerily so; it almost seemed unreal like a "Twilight Zone" episode without the dreadful ending. Yet these people are genuine. May their tribe increase! They should be cloned and distributed to other hotels in order to boost the economy and enrich people's vacation experiences.

The facility is nicer than what we expected, and the accommodations are very nice and the decor is tropical. We have no complaints, and this is the only place we will stay if and when we return to Key Largo. Suffice it to say, that my wife and I were/are pleased with the facility and especially with the workers, at the very least. The Hampton Inn at Key Largo "comes highly recommended" (to quote Rod Serling).

Our family stayed nine nights at the Hampton Inn Key Largo.
Besides the clean rooms and the tropical grounds, our stay was most pleasant due to all the employees and the ambiance that the Hampton Inn offers.

Our back sliding glass door faced the side of theTiki Bar and all the tropical garden setting.
All rooms are entered via an inner hallway.
Our patio had two chairs and a small table. If we looked to the left, we saw the bay, if we looked to the right we saw the gardens and the pool. The room looked like the pictures on the web site. The air condition was cold, and the WIFI was fine. We had a small bar sink, microwave, refrigerator with a small freezer, coffee machine with coffee, etc....
We were in Room 145.

We were greeted at checkin by Christine Gilbert, the manager, and Shanquell. We had to wait for our room as there was a late check out with the previous vacationers. We arrived around 1230, and it was before the normal check in time. It was well worth that wait.

We finally checked in with Chavone after the room was ready. She was very pleasant and professional. She oriented us to the hotel and gave us a map with the hours for the complimentary breakfast. She also handled us a bundle of tourist booklets that included several coupons and maps.

Employees wore name tags, and were visible all through the day and evening.
Every employee greeted you as you passed them in the halls or on the grounds.
We felt very safe walking around. You need your key card to enter all hallways, and the exercise room.

There are umbrella tables for shade at the poolside. There is also two bathrooms with showers by the pool. The pressure is great in those showers. Pool towels are available from the front desk. You can exchange them daily for fresh ones.

The Tiki Bar was open daily from 3p to 8p. Our friend ordered a margarita at $8.00.
There are some comfy couches under roof at the tiki bar.. Mango the parrot accompanied the bartender each day.

Beach: There is a small beach with ample comfortable lounge chairs. There is also a long sea wall for those who may want to dock their boats. The beach faces the west and offers the best sunsets each night.

We saw manatees with their babies each morning and each evening around the sea walls.
There are also several iguana's who roam the property near the tiki bar and the pool area.

Breakfast: Special thanks to Norma who is one of the attendants in the breakfast room.
The hot breakfast entrees changed each day. One day was scrambled eggs, French toast sticks, and small pizza like item on an English muffin Another day was a cheese omelet, potatoes, and bacon or sliced kielbasa .
You make your own waffles.
Items available each day: Fresh cut up fruit, bananas, apples, yogurt, assorted cereals, oatmeal, blueberry muffins, cranberry bread cake, banana bread, danish, etc.
Juices: apple, cranberry, and orange juice. Coffee or hot chocolate is available also.

Housekeeping: Special thanks to Ester, Nadia, and Daphne.

The front desk staff were most welcoming, pleasant, and professional each day of our stay.
Special thanks to Shanquel, and Mark on the morning shift, Chavone and Lucy on the afternoon shift, and we can't forget Joyce on the night shift.

Maintenance: Tony greeted us every day, and inquired about our days at the Hampton several times. He even greeted us on the way out of the parking lot on our way home. He wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our stay.

Exercise Room: air conditioned, TV, bathrooms, water, towels, several treadmills, bicycles, barbells, etc.
There are also washing machines and dryers in the side room called, "storage". The machines & dryers cost $1.00 in quarters. You can buy a small box of soap for $2 at the shop by the front desk.

Restaurants visited: Mrs Mac where locals go, Snapper on the oceanside, Tower of Pizza, Upper Crust (Pizza), Snooks on the bayside, The restaurants are within a few miles from the hotel and all offered good food.
There is also a VFW bar (Veterans of Foreign Wars ) across the street that is open to the public that offer daily menu specials.

Drug stores: CVS, Walgreens, are a few miles away. Publix (grocery store) is one mile away.

We will certainly be back next year. We wish to say that the Hampton Inn Key Largo has the best staff, and are certainly assets for the hotel...

The O'Connors

Room Tip: The back of the room sliding doors on the north side of hotel face the gardens, pool, tiki bar, beac...

We had a lovely stay at the Hampton. The trip was made extra special by the visits from the local manatee family which we were able to swim with. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great except for the muffins, they were not so good. Overall, a fabulous stay!
