Holiday Inn Key Largo. – We searched for a hotel on a beach in Key Largo but settled on the Holiday inn instead. We did not get breakfast ($11.99 buffet) but really enjoyed our stay. Someone else said to get a room poolside which we did and it was well worth it. The weather in May was 70 or so in the early AM and about 85 mid day.

Poolside rooms have a semi private place to sit outside the room – a tropical paradise is the way my wife described it. And with two pools and a hot tub we made good use in the evening. Room was clean and adequate for the two of us.

Location we found to be great as we were close to Pennecamp State Park http://www.pennekamppark.com/

I wanted to snorkel but since Mrs. does not settled for glass bottom boat – Beautiful ride to the reef and plenty of Fish to see. We then took out a 2 seater Kayak and that was fun and easy to navigate well marked (and mapped) water paths trough the mangroves.

There are a few Wonderful Restaurants in the area of the Hotel – Don’t miss the Fish House and Bayside Grille.

Day two we took the two hour drive to Key West stopped on the way at Sombrero Beach for a few hours and that too was special... The Drive to Key West was the most spectacular with plenty of pull offs to take pictures. On out way back we took a small detour to drive around Duck Key – Wanted to see how the 1 % live – … pretty well – and good for them – wish we were there. Enjoy the Keys – “What’s not to like”

Room Tip: Get a pool side room, Well worth it.

Spacious reception area and dining room gave good first impressions. Room on 2nd floor was a fairly standard motel room, with comfortable bed and free wifi. Initial problem with inoperative key cards quickly resolved and cocktails at the Tiki Bar by the pool were served by a charming bartender. The pool area appears well maintained, with two pools and a spa.
Several restaurants within walking distance, fast food and more upmarket.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing pool area

This hotel was amazing! The rooms were very clean and spacious. The pool area was unbelievable! The only downside was we had driven from PA and arrived late at night. We hadn't booked a hotel because we didn't know how far we would get before we needed to stop and rest. When we arrived at the hotel we booked only one night and the staff member who checked us in said we would have until 11AM the next day to check out or decide to stay. The next morning I went down around 9AM to book another night, but our room was already booked and the rest of the hotel was filled. I know I should have just booked another night at check in but it would have been nice if the worker would have told us the hotel was pretty full. So, if you are planning on staying here do the smart thing and book ahead because it is definitely worth it!

We recently held our church retreat at this hotel. All the rooms were updated very nicely & very clean. The staff were wonderful & very helpful to us & the women that attended. The food & catering staff were fantastic. My only critisim would Abe that the meeting rooms should have their own internal audio system. We had to bring our own amplifier & Microphone set- up. Other than that it was wonderful.

Nice rooms, great service, relaxing pool area, bar Tiki hut. Located on the water where you can walk over to the Dock and take a sunset cruise and see the African Queen. She was 100 years old in Feb, and sits in the water next to the hotel.

Room Tip: Choose pool side 1st level

We stayed here after a week touring the keys. We were looking for a place we could sit and relax poolside; we found it here at the Holiday Inn. The front desk staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. They had to juggle several tasks at once, checking people in, handing out the pool towels, answering questions, and answering the phone. Everyone managed to do this with poise and professionalism. The pool area was nice and just what we wanted. I would have given this place a higher rating but the rooms and restaurant are just adequate. They do the job but were not great. However, there are coin operated washers & dryers which come in handy
