You can never go wrong with a Holiday Inn. This one had beautiful landscaping, two pools and access to a nice harbor walk. Walking distance to many amenities. To my surprise, the on site restaurant "Bogies Cafe" was very good! Overall the staff was friendly and the experience was very pleasant. I would stay there again.

The Holiday Inn was wonderful. We booked our 2 day 3 night stay through Sea Dwellers Dive Shop which is located right across the street. Our dive and stay package was a great price and included the $10.00 per person breakfast buffet each morning. The only complaint was that juice was not included on the buffet. The grounds were beautiful and the hotels location couldn't be beat. It sits right on one of the main channels that the most of the dive operations dock in. You could walk right out of your room and get on your dive boat. The pool area was beautiful and nicely landscaped. There was a tiki bar in the middle of the pool area ( not in the water) and the drinks and food were good, but a bit pricey. Our room was nicely furnished and was very clean. The hotel staff was excellent we had a problem with both our toilet and sink backing up and on both occasions the maintenance staff was very prompt and courteous. The only complaint was that all the king rooms were on the second floor and there was no elevator which made hauling heavy gear a bit of a pain. All in all a wonderful place to stay!!

We took a 150 mile short trip for two days down to the keys from Naples in September 2010 (temps in the mid 90's) and looked for a hotel for the one night. Tried the Hilton but it looked a bit unwelcoming and moth-eaten with only one car in the car park. Then drove into the Key Largo Holiday Inn and checked its environs. Found it had a super set of twin pools surrounded by lush palms and vegetation with wild life strutting all around AND it had a block of rooms overlooking a harbour inlet with posh boats moored outside posh waterside properties, as well as day trip and fishing trip boats. Very nice location we thought , with minimal traffic noise from the adjacent US1 single lane highway. We asked reception for a room overlooking the water but after a 30-minute muddle they booked us into such a room (with balcony by the waterway) and gave us a free breakfast voucher because of their muddle and delay. The pool was a HEAVENLY temperature in late afternoon with air temp in the 90's and the hotel obviously nowhere near full. We ordered cups of tea (being Britsh) on the poolside terrace and watched the egrets, ibises and herons wandering around the grounds. Just caught the 4pm glass bottom boat trip from the dock beside the hotel for the (quite expensive) 45 min trip out to a reef, but to be honest saw very little below the water and it had all lost its colour through the thick glass - better to try a snorkling trip for this if you can swim, The room and bathroom were clean but a bit basic and the old aircon unit was efficient but noisy. But we rated the room as OK, and the US-style breakfast was OK. But the best part of the hotel were the pool(s) and the surroundings.

Had a good large room with balcony overlooking the waterway. Rooms on the other side of the block had no balcony. Pain for breakfast ever day at hotel it was self service and was ok. Only ate once at the restaurant, thought the menu was a bit sparse. The pool area was good, the only downfall was the amount of local families (which were nice) and rowdy teenagers/young adults that used the pool facilities. I would not be happy if I couldn't have got a sunbed, when I paid so much to stay there. Overall we enjoyed our stay, it made a good base to get to Key West, Miami Beach and The Everglades.

We've stayed here on three different trips to the Keys (2004, 2007, and now 2010), and we've been very happy with it every time. We're usually out and about doing stuff (diving, parasailing, whatever), so I admit we weren't checking out every amenity the hotel offered, but it had the ones I cared about - free internet, coffee in the room, that sort of thing.

The rooms are clean and in good condition. The hotel is starting to show some age around the edges, but nothing serious. The pool and tiki bar area is perfect, it's a great place to just hang out for a few hours and sip daiquiris.

The location is also nice. It's right next to the Marina del Mar, which has a good restaurant (we didn't try the Holiday Inn's restaurant, but their breakfast was decent) and access to things like parasailing. Easy access to lots of diving spots and that sort of thing (esp. in Tavernier and Islamorada). A couple of minutes' drive from the Fish House (in my opinion the best restaurant in the Keys).

All in all, it's not exactly a five-star resort, but it's reliably a good place to stay.

A nice hotel lots to do around it. A problem with our room, the air conditioning wasn't working, they changed the room straight away and gave us a complimentary breakfast next morning, that was after asking for it. The room we got was clean and tidy but the aircon was very noisy but at least it worked.
The breakfast was ok. There's two pools and a tiki bar also a restaurant for evening meals, we didn't use it as we found a bar which did meals called Sharkeys. This hotel was good stop off place if your going to key west.

Stayed her twice in august. Booked thru priceline and got rooms for less than $100 a night. This was good value for money. Hotel had 2 nice pools and cheap drinks at pool bar. Ample parking and great location. Room was big and clean and free wireless internet.
