Keysy cottages, tropical charm, beach, fishing, etc....what else could you want?? If you want a stuffy luxury accomodation, Sunset Cove isn't it. Sunset Cove is relaxing, comfortable, and the tiki areas at night are gorgeous. Perfect for families, couples, or anyone. Cottages are private from your neighbors and the view of the sunset can't be beat. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT and we will be returning!! The pictures on their website don't do it justice, it is quaint, but very nice!

What a wonderful weekend ! The resort was fun and we had a 1 st rate view of the ocean ! and Sunset ! Snorkeling ! Great Restaurant right next store with music in the evening ! We a enjoyed the manager, Beoncia ! Very bright young lady that seemed to keep everything moving !
We have staved at several places this last summer in the keys and found this one to be special, the king size bed was comfortable and the sheets where clean, We hope to go back very soon !

We experienced a totally satisfying stay at this tropical resort in Marathon Florida. It is quaint and very unique in how it is laid out. And the sunset view from the beach shore was breathtaking. The rooms are comfortable. You may not have all the comforts of home when you stay at Sunset Cove; however, if you are looking to get away to a naturally delightful getaway spot then you will enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: The closer to the beach front the better.

Flash back to individual small cottages, large animal statue's on property (am I showing my age?). Not very fancy, but very 'local' in atmosphere and unique to the Keys. Located waterfront on the Bayside. Large Tiki Hut that we rented for a birthday party.

Room Tip: Great little individual cottages

We stayed at Sunset Cove for one night on the last night of our trip. The scenery at the resort was unique and I'm going to stop calling it a resort because their sign clearly says "Motel" which is a much better description.

Robin at the front desk was so very helpful and was great in pointing us in the right direction for meals. We had a great meal at Mrs. Mac's kitchen on his recommendation.

The beach left a lot to be desired. It was small and the water wasn't very clean. While we were swimming, we saw several beer caps. They did have a lot of hammocks and chairs which were nice to lay in.

The room looked clean, as well as the linens, but I couldn't get a full nights sleep because I kept itching. I'm not sure what it was - detergent? Also, there isn't much to do nearby, so we rented a DVD from the RedBox at Walgreens and 3/4 of the way through the movie the DVD player crapped out.

The other thing that irked me was the book in the room, which specified we must strip the linens. This is fine, but don't also put an envelope in the room to tip the maid. I just did part of her job.

We probably wouldn't stay here again, considering the price and our needs. But if you are looking for a place with a full kitchen, gazebos for large groups and a unique feel, then this is probably the place for you.

This place is called a "resort," but the term is used loosely. It's more a collection of old buildings with a few hammocks and barbecues interspersed between them. The parking spaces weren't labeled, so we parked near the front office initially. After getting out of our car, one of the employees (walking his dog - I guess he lives on property) immediately told us we need to move our car. He didn't greet us and certainly didn't say "Welcome to Sunset Cove Beach Resort." We told him we were just parking temporarily until we found out where we would be staying, and he was okay with that.

The room was large and spacious, but the sheets were dirty and the bathroom was minuscule! The shampoos and conditioners provided by the hotel must have been from the mid 1980s! The look and smell of them reminded us of something we'd find in our 78 year-old grandma's house. The "beach" is just a rocky area facing Buttonwood Sound.

No one's in the office late at night or early in the morning, so if there is a problem, make sure you address it during office hours. There is a slot to drop off your room key if you check out earlier than the office opens.

Overall, we weren't that impressed with Sunset Cove Beach Resort and would probably stay elsewhere next time we visit Key Largo.

We came as a group of 10 and had reservations for two cottages. We had stayed there years before and there was a huge improvement. Granted a few units could be removed, but it is truely a fun place, especially for kids. We loved the tiki huts and spent lots of time there. The use of kayaks was also great. The pier was a fun place to spend time with the kids fishing. Sunset Cove is truely a keyzee place to stay. It was very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a five star resort this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a kicked back relaxing experience go to the Sunset Cove Beach Resort.
