No complaints about the location. Rooms were not very clean. Bed was very uncomfortable and only had two pillows that were very undersized. Bathroom was incredibly small. We thought $156 was way too much for the room. Not a good value.

So this summer one of my best girlfriends thought she wanted to go camping through Florida, ending up in The Keys with it being her 1st time to get near Key West. Being a KW regular, & seasoned traveler I gave it a good shot. We started off camping in the Ft. Desoto campgrounds (will write about it later) as a nasty storm blew in & was staying a few days, we decided to head south & wing it. Had a resv. for a campsite for 2 days in Key Largo, but arrived 2 days early & found this lil place on Hwy 1 called Sunset Beach Cove Resort. the vacancy light was on so we pulled in. Went to the front desk & they had a room for the night, and we happily took the one labeled "den" we thought how bad could it be. it was an older place but the beds were so comfy & it was great for a family as we only needed 2 beds it had 4....2Q & 2 Twins. The next morning once we could wander about & saw all the cute lil cottages, beach, tiki huts, crazy animals, various wild lizards & geckos, we went to the front desk & asked for a 4 night stay!
It has been there since the 1930's always family owned & the family now is so sweet & accommodating it was like paradise! We settled in at Cottage 1, free Wifi, comp continental breakfast daily, water sports, boat dock, & a fab restaurant/bar Bayside Grill next door. Hammocks to lay in under the tiki, grills, for partys seen a wedding at sunset..... it was one of those places you really meet the others staying there when you hang out at the beach for a day or 2. I have a friend who lives in Key Largo & she even was goin to recommend it!!

Room Tip: cottage #4 was my fav we moved 3 times because we wanted to stay longer and it was mini lobster season!!

Robin at the front desk was a pleasure, he told us about a lot of things not to miss and what to avoid! These were like little cottages and were pretty spacious and clean! The private Beach was a bit rocky but, with Sandler or water shoes was really nice! Tiki hut covered lounges, kayaks, hammocks and whimsical picnic areas throughout!! Everyone staying was pleasant and you are next door to the Bayside Grille for CHEAP drinks! Highly recommended!! Nice to relax and watch the catamaran's go by!!

We arrived Wednesday the 24th late got into our room and crashed. We woke up Thursday morning to a beautiful view. We had a slight problem with our room but the hotel was extremely accommodating to us and set us up in another room. The staff was very friendly and for my first Keys experience it was awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

My husband and I stayed here a few days this week. We enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed in the cottage called, Deep 6 ... it is not a huge cottage ... but it was clean, no bugs (probably due to the 4"- 6" lizards hanging out outside, wink) has cold A/C, it's near the beach ...and I loved having the bird cage right outside ... enjoyed waking up to the sound of the birds (only 3 or 4 of them) each morning. The front desk staff was VERY nice and helpful, though we never needed them after check in because everything was perfect. This is a true Key Largo style Resort ... close to shopping, food and fun activities. However, if you are wanting Egyptian cotton and room service, I suggest you go to the Hilton, etc.
