We liked Snappers so much we visited twice on our recent trip to Key Largo. Great view and atmosphere. Service was ok, not wonderful, but we enjoyed it regardless.

This restaurant has never lived up to the hype. On my last trip we stayed at dove creek hotel next to snappers so we figured we would try since they gave us a 20 percent off discount card. Should have known it would be terrible if they have to give 20 percent discounts away. Try 1 went for lunch and after 20 minutes of waiting on service we left. Try 2 we went to bar. Beer was cold and music great. So we figured we would try for lunch the next day. Try 3 we come back and lady at bar ignores us for 15 minutes. Then takes drink order and ignores us the entire time. Finally get tab and left 25 cent tip.

Angie the waitress that offered us to try again now owes us a free meal however I will just stay away.

Music is great though and did enjoy listening while at dove creek. For dinner bypass this place and hit pilot house, marker 88, island grill, fish house, sundowners, mrs Mac, sharky pub.

The chocolate key lime pie was the creamiest most delicious key lime pie I have ever tasted! We really enjoyed the view and live entertainment, but the place was too small. We were not able to sit outside on a Tuesday evening even though there were plenty of open tables. What gives?

You won't see these rooms advertised unless you visit the Snapper's website. We consider ourselves fortunate to have been told about the 4 rooms above the restaurant. 3 rooms have one king size bed (100$/night) and 1 room has 2 double beds (120$/night) - all rooms are a bargain for this area!!! Every room is clean, updated and tastefully decorated with TV, air conditioning and small bathroom with standup shower. All rooms have a large, private "patio" area. You might think it would be noisy because of the restaurant downstairs and live entertainment every night. It really isn't.. One of the most enjoyable parts of our stay was sitting on our patio listening to the music. Once in our room, with windows closed or air conditioning running you could not hear a thing! The restaurant has an outstanding menu and everything we tried was delicious and reasonably priced! The staff was very friendly and we met many interesting people! If you're looking for a clean place to stay without breaking the bank, this is the place; ideal for 1 or 2 people. Sparsely furnished but you must remember...you are in the Keys and should be out exploring - not in a hotel room! We bought a cheap cooler, which Snapper's allowed us to fill from their ice machines! Would have enjoyed a small coffee maker and refrigerator - but if you need all that, head to a resort and pay 200$ - 300$ per night!

Travelling up and down the Keys we ended up eating here three times, two dinners and a lunch, and each time it was a wonderful experience. It's right on the water overlooking a little harbor and mangroves. There are strings of coloured lights and every time we were there they had live music. The service was efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. There was something about this place that made you wish your holiday would last a little bit longer. Great memories.
