“Perfect stay - except for the desk clerk Jane”

We loved Dove Creek Lodge and will definitely stay here again! My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights for a short scuba diving trip. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large, which was nice since we had all our dive gear with us. The grounds were lovely and the water view was excellent. At check-in we were walked to our room by the clerk and given an overview - it was a nice touch! The pool wasn't crowded, though the hotel was fully booked. The breakfast buffet was better than expected. There was fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, cereal and oatmeal. Parking was never an issue. My only complaint was at check-out. The clerk - her name is Jane or Jan - was shockingly abrupt and rude. I honestly cannot believe someone with her attitude works in the hospitality industry. Overall we had a great stay!

This property was immaculate! Everything from the grounds to the rooms were sparkling. The pool and the hammocks are especially inviting. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. And having a restaurant right next door is especially convenient - just walk right over for dinner and drinks on the dock! We have recommended this place to all our friends and will definitely go back!

Stayed here during our grand tour of Florida and after many hotels, we stayed here on our way back north towards the mainland. Must admit we stayed in Key Largo as its just as famous as Key West, if you're doing the keys, you've gotta stay in key largo surely? so we did. Must admit we were disappointed with key largo, just a long commercialised strip, bit of a dump really. But this hotel made up for it. We arrived and the lady on the front desk was lovely, we were a bit perturbed when we found our room was right next door to the lobby/breakfast area, but we were wrong, it was lovely and peaceful, gorgeous views across the marina (they had complementary kayaks, but i didnt fancy being rescued by the US coastguard!), the restaurant next door was fabulous and fantastic value for the quality of the food.
Overall a lovely stay.

This place was for my wife and I the perfect small lodge for a getaway. Right on the ocean with a marina, views, nice pool, free kayak to use, and quiet. There was a mix of family and others. The rooms were above average, and very clean. There is a restaurant right next door where we had above average lunches more than once. Service was so-so 1 time out of 3. We would recommend it to anyone and look forward to coming back.

Room Tip: request ocean view

My family and I just got back from a wonderful vacation in Key Largo Florida. We had been to many parts of Florida before but never Key Largo. We drove from Virginia which took us 18 hours of which we split up half way and stayed overnight in Savannah Georgia before continuing on to Key Largo. It's a beautiful place, quaint, not crowded, good food and the people are very friendly. We booked a room at a place called Dove Creek Lodge which was at mile marker 94. What an adorable place! It's small, beautifully decorated and landscaped, extremely clean and quiet. Even if the whole place is booked you would never know it because it was so peaceful and relaxing. The ladies who were at the front desk, (Debbie) is the only one I remember the name of, treated you like family. We booked a one bedroom suite which is on the small side but you really didn't seem to mind it. The living room was well equip with a pull out couch, coffee table, end table with drawers and a large T.V. stand with plenty of drawer space for whoever was sleeping out in the living room. In our case it was my two teenage daughters who had plenty of drawer space for their stuff. The only closet was very small with a tiny bit of hanging space but there was plenty of drawer space. Our room overlooked the pool area and it was great because the girls could swim and we could keep an eye on them from the room. Across the marina there is a great restaurant called Snappers (a bit pricey) but we found all of the restaurants to be pricey down there. The atmosphere was wonderful with live music every night coming from across the water at Snappers. It wasn't intrusive at all in fact it was relaxing being in the pool at night and hearing the Calipso music. While you are in the area, you must visit Harriettes diner at mile marker 96 on the left hand side of the road if you are leaving the lodge and traveling North on the main highway. It's a small bright yellow house with a big sign that says "Harriettes" out front. They have the best breakfasts and her homemade biscuits and key lime muffins are to die for! Be aware that one muffin is enough to feed 4 people. They are huge! They are also priced at $4.50 a muffin! Other places to eat that we enjoyed are Snappers across the marina (you can walk there from the lodge as there is a path that leads right to it), The Fish House (extremely crowded and noisy but worth it), Tower of Pizza (great pizzas), and a Mexican restaurant who's name escapes me but it's at mile marker 104 on the right going North and it's fabulous and reasonably priced. Try their key lime pie! We did a key lime pie taste test at most of the restaurants and the Mexican restaurant won by far! Go figure! As far as conch chowder, Harriettes has the best as well as the fritters. I would highly recommend staying at Dove Creek Lodge and can't wait to return again.

We arrived at Dove Creek Lodge after an exhausting drive from the Miami Airport. (It was a holiday weekend!!). The clerk at the hotel was so friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. She even walked us to our suite.

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. We had a king-bed suite with a screened in lanai and a great view of the ocean. All the rooms are on the second and third floors as the buildings are built on stilt-like structures and parking is underneath the rooms. It was a very quiet and serene place to stay. There was also a wonderful heated pool, Jacuzzi , beautifully landscaped gardens, and boat docks.

The receptionist suggested dinner at Snapper’s – right next door – which was outstanding. After dinner, we swam, and then enjoyed a bottle of Pinot Gris while sitting on the patio watching the ocean. The next morning, we had a delightful continental breakfast on the patio. If we ever return to The Keys, we will be certain to book a longer stay at Dove Creek Lodge.

This place is....indescribable! It's quaint, delightful, relaxing atmosphere is the embodiment of the lifestyle in the Keys. Debbie is amazing too--the people here are so friendly. This will be THE place we stay when we return. All of the things you may want to see or do are very close to this place too which is a bonus. I would rather be here than anywhere! You won't see a lot of people either, it feels like you are on an exclusive resort where you are whisked away to someplace special; remote and private I much prefer this to the busy place Key West has become. There is no place else for me! A perfect 10!
