“Perfect Key Largo weekend getaway!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

We live in Ft. Lauderdale and had a groupon to go Snorkeling at Pennekamp Park. Staying at Dove Creek was the best experience we've had in the Keys. The resort is very clean with luch tropical landscaping. The pool was very refreshing as was the hot tub. The room was impeccably clean with a very comfortable king size bed, refridgerator, and safe. The property is right next to Snapper's which we ate at 3 times during the weekend and each time was great! Wonderful convenience and average price for the Keys. There were no loud noises or parties to be heard during our 2 night stay. It was the refreshing and relaxing weekend we needed! We will most certainly return to Dove Creek when we return to Key Largo or Islamorada!

Room Tip: We were in room 404 on the top floor with view of the ocean and the pool area. It was very quiet.

I had an ocean view room, and it was great. I enjoyed sitting out on my balcony in the evening, listening to the live music from Snappers next door. The room itself was nice and comfy. It had a king size bed, a nightstand on either side of the bed, with a lamp on each, a desk and chair and flatscreen tv. In the closet, there was a little refrigerator and a coffee maker. I would have liked to have had a microwave, too. The balcony was tiny - just enough room for two chairs and a tiny table - but it worked. The breakfast was okay, but nothing to shout about: fresh fruit skewers, a couple kinds of cold cereal, bagels, some sweet breads and pastries, yogurt/fruit parfaits, key lime tarts (which are actually pretty much parfaits too), juice, milk, coffee. I enjoyed sitting in the various Adirondack and lounge chairs down at the "beach" area. It was very peaceful and relaxing down there. I didn't use the pool at all, but it looked like a nice little area, too. Parking was convenient, and everyone in the office was extremely helpful and friendly. Really, the only major drawback that would possibly keep me from returning is that this place is apparently in a cell service dead spot, or at least it was for me (Verizon). And the hotel apparently has free wifi, but I couldn't get it to work in my room the entire time I was there. I don't know that I can handle being that cut off again. I really loved the location, and it was exactly what I had in mind for a relaxing vacation, but I don't know that I would stay again without wifi.

We recently stayed 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary, the place looked very nice at first glance. When we booked the room we were told it had a balcony overlooking a private garden, I was looking forward to a nice private retreat were I could have a cup of coffee in the morning, and a glass of wine in the evening, it was very disappointing to find, it was a screened porch in front of our room facing the elevator and corridor where you could see everybody from guests to housekeeping, and if we didn't keep the curtains of the glass door shot everybody could see inside. We saw the sunrise from the private garden near the water, but needed to keep our eyes on the horizon, if we looked to the ground we could see a lot of garbage entangled in the mangrove. The room overall was nice and comfortable and the restaurant next door was excellent.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Lodge while visiting Key West. The room was nice and quiet. The little screened in porch area was nice. The grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was tasty and the view during breakfast was fantastic. The pool was inviting.

Room Tip: They charge a $25.00 deposit on towels taken to snorkeling trips.

We would definitely return to Dove Creek Lodge again, it's a great place to get away and situated so you feel like you're in your own private oasis. The grounds are lushly landscaped with hammocks and Adirondack chairs placed throughout—so there is always a place to relax and take in the beautiful view. We had a one bedroom suite, which was bright and cheery, and it was nice to have a fridge, microwave, couch, and screened-in porch. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The restaurant next door, Snappers, has live music every day, but the volume is not so loud that it detracts from the relaxing vibe - also, the food there is excellent! If you want to get away and relax Dove Creek is the place to go!

Room Tip: The one-bedroom suites are great, with lots of room!

We had a nice stay. Room was clean and inviting. There was no microwave which was a bit of a disappointment. Nice breakfast with delicious little Key Lime Tarts. It was full moon when we were there so the view from our balcony was beautiful. We didn't care for the restaurant next door but just beyoiund that is an amazing tiki bar. Staff are awesome and the drinks are delish! We don't use the pattle boats and kayaks as you'd have to paddle way out to go anywhere. There is a sandy beach area with hammacks and chairs that are inviting and the pool is clean.

I live in key Largo but we bought 2 nights at an auction. The room was a one bedroom suite. Lovely to sit in the screened in room and listen to the music from Snappers, the restaurant next doo. Only problem is they need a nightstand on both sides of the bed. And for a luxury hotel they should have down pillows, notpolyester.

Room Tip: Room 302 was nice facing pool and ocean
