Great place. Very private and very helpful staff. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and spotless. If you love the Keys, this is a perfect spot. We went for a wedding reception and it was so great, I changed my plans and stayed a few extra days.

Room Tip: I saw a few rooms and all looked great. We had 3 people and had plenty of room.

I love coming down to the Keys for more than a decade. It is a paradise to be. If you desire quiet, cozy place with incredible sunsets, I would highly recommend this resort. Very friendly hospitable staff. Thumbs up for CPI :-)

I’ve been visiting the Florida Keys since 1960. Many things have changed since then, but I still love the Keys.

Not long ago my husband and I stayed at the Coconut Palm Inn on Tavernier. I highly recommend the Coconut Palm for the real flavor of the Florida Keys. Even though it’s only about an hour south of Miami and two blocks off U.S.1, it feels like you’ve traveled back in time to Old Florida.

Maybe twenty-something rooms, no buildings more than two floors, all the rooms facing the bay. Our room had a charming patio, others had a porch. There’s a pool or you can swim in the bay.

We saw fellows netting shrimp from the shore adjacent to the property. A two minute walk away, there’s a Cuban coffee shop: order a caffecito and a pastry stuffed with guava.

Lawn chairs under the palms. Hammocks strung between palm trees. Our room was clean and comfortable and although we didn’t spend much time in our room, the siestas under the ceiling fan, with the breeze off the bay, were heavenly.

I don’t want to mislead anyone. This is not the Palm Beach Ritz Carlton, not the Fountainbleau on Miami Beach, not a super-luxurious hotel. But if you want a Florida experience, close to swimming, fishing, diving, I think you will enjoy your stay at the Coconut Palm.

Room Tip: Think about if you want easier beach access on the ground floor or if you prefer the night sky and b...

We chose the Coconut Palm Inn for our children's 'destination wedding.' Wow! What a good choice! The inn is a true Keys gem. The service was so hospitable, the rooms were spacious and spotless, the ambiance was just what we hoped for . Our guests told us it was the best party ever. Kudos to Katherine and Dana and the staff.

Nice little hideyhole in Tavernier. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The staff are personable and very helpful. We were actually upgraded as a surprise because the Keys were emptying out before Tropical Storm Isaac.

The grounds are kept spotless, there are hammocks stretched between palm trees and recliners out on the water should you be inclined to laze about. The pool is nice too.

My only wish is that the hotel offered a bar service - sure, you can amble over to the Wynn Dixie 1km away and purchase booze to drink on your balcony, but ideally I want somebody to pass me something cold in a glass when the mood arises.

We would stay here again despite some of the details I'll provide. We loved the location and the beauty of the property. Katherine, the on-site contact, was very nice and helpful. This place suited us and our purposes for going to the Keys.

PROS:

-Location is in Key Largo, so a lot to do in the area. Near plenty of restaurants. Also close enough to drive to other keys, including Key West in a day.
-Property is very pretty. On a bay with a marina and a boat ramp. Sandy area (not a beach) for sitting. Chairs, hammocks and bbq grills provided.
-Kayaks and paddle boards provided at no charge. Life vests also available.
-Filtered water available in the same room where you can get your paddles, along with a common area toilet, coffee and ice.
-Continental breakfast is included and served outside each morning: OJ, prepackaged muffins, banana bread, single serving oatmeal packets, apples and coffee and tea.
-Plenty of on-site parking.
-Kingsized bed and screened in patio (with light and ceiling fan) offered for some rooms.
- Our room was clean, but for a few bugs (it's near the beach, so perhaps that's to be expected)
- Due to some last minute cancellations, we were given a comp upgrade.
- Pool on-site.
- Mini-fridge and microwave in our room with paper towels and some plateware
- Cable tv
- Free Wi Fi
- Rooms seem well insulated from noise.

CONS:
-Furniture in the room is outdated and needs replacing or repair.
-Bit of a musty smell in our room that came back if the A/C was not on a higher setting.
- A large group of friends and their kids were staying here, so they basically took over the property (bbqs, chairs, pool, kayaks) and played their music and were just socially rather noisy. Tip: Ask if a group will be staying when you wish to book. If they had not been there, the stay would have been quiet. We were offered something for the inconvenience, which we appreciated.
- To our knowledge, the property is not manned 24/7. Katherine is there about 9 - 5 and there is an emergency number to call after hours.
- No restaurant which is ok, but no vending machines. Need to stock on snacks and water/drinks on your own off the property. Winn Dixie is about a minute away.

As others have commented, it's tempting not to write a review as this is truly a hidden treasure! It's tempting to leave it that way!!!

From check in to departure, nothing was too much trouble. Such a delightfully friendly place. Our suite was great. With free access to kayaks and paddle boards right outside our room, a lovely little pool and hammocks swinging amongst cococnut palms, what more could we ask for?

We were so sad to leave, and we will most definitely be back! Shame it's so far away for us, or it would be a regular weekend getaway.
