Ocean Reef really is a private club, and maintained like one. Accommodations are first rate, as is service and dining and recreational opportunities. Only "fault" is lack of a beach, if that's what you want in a getaway spot. But, for a relaxing weekend or family vacation, Ocean Reef has everything else!

Room Tip: can't go wrong; many options

The only thing this place lacks is a beach. It more than makes up for that with it's beautiful Yacht studded canals and 2 lovely moon pools. The rooms are spacious and posh, good wi-fi and HVAC. The food is good, service excellent and the fitness center one of the best I've seen. I'll be back!

Stayed on a boat here for several weeks. This place is pretty amazing. Cooking school, fly fishing lessons, golf carts, shopping, great pool, they have everything. Even an airport. The location is remote but you will never need to leave.

We were in the area for the NASCAR race. We stayed at the Ocean Reef Club for the weekend. It was a great place. We enjoyed the pool area. The bar was great. I spent some time at the spa and my husband was able to go fishing. The staff was very nice and took very good care of us. The location was convenient for the race. We would love to spend more time here.

I was here the weekend of the NASCAR Homestead race for the entertainment of clients.

First, this place is secluded. Once on the resort property you have the option to rent a golf cart to get to golf or fishing village where there is some shopping and restaurants. Otherwise, the staff will take you in resort vans etc. Due to its seclusion, you will likely eat all your meals on property. The restaurants are great and offer a great variety, especially fresh seafood - I recommend the macadamia coconut prepared snapper at Buccaneer restaurant. the place to end the night was the Burgee Bar in fishermans village which also serves everything from pizza to sushi.

The pools are very nice but if you are coming for a beach - this is not your place ( in fairness none of the Keys are). There is plenty of sand and a lagoon with rentable kayaks etc but not the same as the ocean say in miami beach and you really can't take a dip in the ocean. The pool bar wasn't swim up but was a nice place to have their famous Reef Cup drink which is strong, and tasty.

One night my company hosted a party in a gazebo area and the food and decorations were great - saw a similarly nice setup for a wedding the next night.

Overall the place is nice, safe and quiet but my opinion is that it is overpriced both with rack rate as well as the restaurants/ drinks. The restaurant prices can be tolerated due to freshness and preparation. The staff is friendly enough. You also must be mindful of the dress code. Note that my unit did not have Internet connection and my tv in the bedroom didn't work. Golf course is very nice ( hammock course) but Is target golf - so bring your A game.

Room Tip: Ask for a modern decorated room/condo. The 1 bedroom condo was ok but next door's condo was dec...

I had the pleasure of spending four days at Ocean Reef last week as part of a business and pleasure getaway.

The first thing that jumps out at you about Ocean Reef is the customer service. All the employees make a point of learning your name and greeting you more like a friend than a hotel guest. When I had a slight problem with my internet service, a staff member came in and had it fixed within five minutes. By the way, my room had a dual sink, a Cuisinart coffee maker, big screen TV, and a great view of the ocean/beach.

The second thing that was really fun was the golf cart mode of transportation. Ocean Reef is huge and a golf cart is the perfect way to get around. The golf cart is a great way to connect with other guests and some guest who live there for extended stays have customized their carts to represent their personalities.

Most of the nine restaurants at Ocean Reef take advantage of the ocean views. The hotel/resort is surrounded on three sides by water and they also have a huge marina.

I checked out the two golf courses. The conditions were fantastic. Having two courses gives a golfer a little variety and there are several quite scenic holes.

I learned the Ocean Reef has something called a Vintage Weekend coming up a few weeks. Old cars, airplanes and boats will be on display. Looking at the upcoming calendar, it seems there is always something interesting going on.

All in all, Ocean Reef is a beautiful upscale Florida escape that I would consider in the future.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Marlin Inn on the third floor. Great view!!

Great place, friendly staff, gorgeous community, few things in working order.
Newspaper was delivered one morning out of three, TV did not work, hair dryer did not work, bad smell throughout grounds. And what's up with the strict dress code? Most people that would choose a $400 plus a night resort know how to dress.
Raw bar was outstanding though pricey.
