My wife and I just had a two day stay here during our trip to the Keys. Overall, we had a good experience, but it wasn't without its difficulties.

We went on trip advisor to look for some hotel options the morning that we would be arriving. We found Parrot Key and decided (based on some advice from another hotel owner) to call the hotel directly to make sure we could get a room for the advertised price. They had only one room left at the type/price we wanted, but we didn't book it yet in order to check some other places. We called back about 10 minutes later to book, but they said the room was taken. They did, however, have a more expensive option available. After our price had changed, we again wanted to check some other resorts, so we didn't book yet. We called back around an hour later to book, but the room was taken. Again, they offered a more expensive room instead. We declined. Instead, we checked trip advisor, found the original room we had requested, and booked through their website. We then called to confirm the reservation and they confirmed it no problem. We didn't have any problems after that.

Bottom line: It felt like we were being nickel and dimed into getting a more expensive room, when they clearly had others available. I hope for their sake that isn't true and they just had an incompetent person running the reservations that day.

Rooms were great with separate bedrooms for privacy. Beautiful grounds. Friendly and helpful staff. FOUR pools. Very nice. My husband would have like to be within walking distance to Mallory Square but I found this peaceful and beautiful and it was only a 5 minute drive to downtown.

Room Tip: There is no beach access but most of the hotels don't have beach access in Key West. Very nice resort. I enjoyed the quiet and all the greenery that helped keep things cool.

The wi if was very weak and at times non existent. Hard to get a parking place close to the rooms. We had to park on Walgreens parking lot. No free breakfast here. There is a refrigerator and microwave so you can pick up some supplies at the grocery. Enjoyed the 4 pools. But they were very small. We saw only one place to get ice. Other than that everything else was nice.

This resort is truly as nice as the photos show!
Lobby and staff were great!
We got a free upgrade. Our room was awesome. Clean and nice. Big! We didn't find anything that needed repair or updating. Pools are very nice! plenty of sun and shade. Cocktails were yummy!
Truly a great experience all around!

It's hard to feel like u are in a resort when u are next to a kmart and a Home Depot. Our "oceanfront" villa overlooks a fake beach with no water access, which is pretty but frustrating. The lack of spa and gym facilities and proper dining facilities don't feel like a resort either. The bungalows are nice as is the pool area, but the dreadful incessant music makes earphones a must. The worst part is the location. It feels like the suburbs of Orlando.
