Had a Wednesday reservation to fish with Craig at Kingbird charters, unfortunately my nephew who was suppose to arrive on Tuesday pm was not going to be able to be there till late Wednesday am ( Thanks to Delta airlines). Called Craig and asked if there was any way we could go later in the week. He was able to take us out on Friday and was great about switching it up.
He was in the midst of buying a new boat but was able to take us out with another charter captain (Michelle) that he is friends with. We were staying at the Almond Tree inn on Truman and didn't have a rental car but Craig was able to come and pick us up as well as drop us off afterwards.
The fishing was great, kept us in the action on the reef with from what I understand were some really big yellow tails.Had a great time fighting a bunch of fish and getting busted on by each other and Capt. Michelle when we would lose a fish. Was also pretty cool when a few sharks showed up to try and grab some of the fish we were reeling in, they got a few but we also hooked and fought a few of them which was a lot of fun.Finished up fishing on a wreck which was a little slower action but all different species of fish, something cool about fighting a fish and not know what its going to be till its to the boat.
Great day on the water with a captain that knows how to make it fun and get you in the action. Feels a lot like going out fishing with a buddy. Hope to get out again with Capt. Craig on our next visit.
