“If you can't find Duval Street...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2006

you're not in Key West!!! This is the most happening street in the country. I live in NY and while Fifth Avenue is great during the holiday season, it's always a holiday on Duval Street. No one should miss the fun and excitement going on here.

“tourist trap”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 January 2005

I guess I was expecting more of a "bohemian spirit" when I visited Duval Street. What I saw was just an over-commercialized tourist trap. Quite boring to visit during the day. If you like to drink or just watch people who are drunk, visit after sundown. There are lots of bars that serve creative and tasty (if overpriced) drinks.
Be careful if you are driving. We had a man actually throw himself in front of our car who got mad when we didn't hit him!

“All depends on what you seek”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2004

Key West is certainly a place to get your par-tay on, and Duval is the most famous place to do it. All the infamous hot spots are right here: Sloppy Joe's, Margaritaville Cafe, Hog's Breath, Bull & Whistle, even the Hard Rock Cafe. If you enjoy drinking, music, and lots of friendly people, you won't want to miss out.

Be aware, though, that this is THE tourist trap of all time. You'll pay more for drinks and food of lesser quality than you'll find off the main drag. Stay out of the t-shirt shops if you know what's good for you, plenty of them are rip-off artists and none of them are selling anything that will seem funny once you're sober. Also, be forewarned that there is a homeless problem in Key West, and you'll be tripping over panhandler after panhandler on Duval after dark. Most of them have an interesting schtick and very few are dangerous, but still this is an issue for some.

Still, don't miss out on this amazing experience just once in your life! Where else can you stroll through art galleries barefoot with a cold beer in your hand? Be there, see it, bring your sense of humor and leave the kids at home. Park your butt on the outdoor barstools at the Iguana Cafe (across from Captain Tony's) and enjoy a cold Yuengling while you watch the parade of lunatics go by. Then don't miss out on the REAL treat of the bars and restaurants down near the Historic Seaport - reasonable prices and fabulous food everywhere you look.

“A crazy little town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2004

I had the time of my life when I was in Key West. There is so much to do down there. The night life and the day life all blend together. The bars are always packed with what seems to be the most laid back, friendly people. All the entertainers were actually entertaining. I had a great dinner at the Cuban restaurant in Mallory Square where u see the most beautiful sunsets, while being entertained by stunt men, and other different acts. The beaches are not the nicest beaches i have ever seen, but a beach is a beach. In a nut shell, i cant wait to go back!!!!!

“A little bit of everything”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2003

Duval St is a real treat! Plenty of nightlife, free entertainment all over the place, and the people-watching in itself is a blast. Nice eateries for any budget.....4-star to fast food. Of course there are the tee shirt shops and tourist trinket outlets....but no one forces you to go in them.. Visit Sloppyjoes, Irish Kevins, the Bull&Whistle........best ginmills in the world.

Everything is here----high fashion clothing stores, street performers, ...you name it, you can find it here if you look
