Just returned from our first visit to Key West. Stayed at the Hotel Marquesa for three nights with our son (high school senior). Highly recommend this property. Friendly staff, impeccable room, wonderful secluded inner courtyard. A peaceful oasis. Convenient to everything!

Quiet location in old town, comfortable room, we had a small porch where we had breakfast and read.

Staying at the Marquesa felt like being at home in Key West. This was my first stay, but I know I will be back. Starting with Henry, who was very pleasant and professional when initially taking my phone reservations and then greeting us upon our arrival, made my wife and I feel like family. Bob was very accommodative with some special requests and went far beyond my expectations in helping me. Richard offered the same professional and friendly attention when I needed immediate assistance, and Carol helped make the check out process a quick and painless process. The restaurant staff at the Marquesa is also top notch. Manager Dave Bell made sure the impeccable service matched the quality of the food. And Bonnie was the best server we ever had. I highly recommend the Marquesa to all savvy travelers who want to make their visit to Key West a very special event.

Room Tip: All rooms have a unique quality in this special environment so I would check their website for photo...

We spent a week at the Marquesa and loved the location: central to everything, but far enough from the noise and less than congenial aesthetics of Duvall Street. We were able to walk to an abundance of fabulous restaurants, but found the best of all was the Cafe Marquesa in the hotel. The concierge service was great: they booked terrific scuba trips for our 17-yr-old son, bikes, and schooner trips for my husband and me, plus the trip to the Dry Tortugas. Beautifully appointed rooms and grounds, with attentive service. A true oasis in midst of old town. Look forward to our next visit.

We loved our stay at the Marquesa. You can tell from all the previous reviewers that it is a great place to stay, with the best service and beautiful grounds and rooms.

There's one aspect of the stay that prevents the Marquesa from being perfect. If you are researching the hotel, you know that it is not inexpensive. When paying a certain price, it is always nice to feel like you are getting something a bit "extra", however small it might be. In the case of the Marquesa, I think providing a complimentary breakfast, if only something light, would be such a nice addition to their guest services. You can obtain a continental breakfast for $10, but it seems like a way to charge guests for something extra. Also, it would have been delightful to have some sort of snack offered with the afternoon iced tea. Good food often helps establish strong memories of hotel stays for us, if only a few freshly baked muffins and coffee.

This is our third stay at the Marquesa and the third time we loved it! Friendly staff from reservations--they worked hard to accommodate our date change and room preference--to keeping the grounds beautiful to reserving bikes and tours for us. The location is ideal. We enjoy being close to the grocery store and can walk to the movie theater and restaurants. But really, our favorite activity is sitting by the gorgeous patio and pools, drinking iced tea, and talking to fellow guests.

Just got back from one of our greatest getaways ever. Our 8th trip to Key West and our 6th stay at the Marquesa. The Marquesa was superb. Beautiful grounds, great service, very peaceful, and a short walk to the activity of Duval Street. We never rent a car ... only bicycles (from Eaton Bikes). Room 21 is our new favorite room. It's a second floor room with no elevator so be prepared for single run of stairs. The porch overlooks one of the two pools and is great for late night, outdoor conversations and cocktails with the one you love. ... In my case, my bride of 34 years. Nice sunshine on the porch in the morning. Morning coffee and tea available for all ... a wonderful and much appreciated service. Good quality WiFi service. These rooms are some of the finest that We've ever experienced.

Room Tip: Rooms 20 and 21 get nice morning sunshine on the porch (second floor).
