Marquesa Hotel must be one of the best hotels in Key West.

First, as what other people have said, the restaurant is fantastic. The food is amazing, and you can get room service with the same food which we did multiple times.

The pool is great. There isn't much service out there, but there is some nice iced tea and water out there. Even in February which apparently is not that warm in general, it was nice by the pool.

If I went again, I would stay in the interior rooms and not one facing the street. It depends how much noise you are okay with.

Overall, this hotel is fantastic, I wouldn't even consider another location in Key West.

The Marquesa offered a quaint and cozy stay that felt more like an inn than a hotel. We chose the Marquesa based on its location, free parking, and amazing reviews, and we weren’t disappointed. Perfectly located two blocks from the heart of Duval Street, it was amazing how quiet and secluded this place was once we stepped inside. We were a bit surprised that the front desk was just that—a small desk—and check-in was really slow, but the management was really personable, escorting us to our room and telling us all about the hotel features and Key West. As we expected, the room was small, but it was exceptionally clean and we were ecstatic to get a spacious veranda with our room overlooking the street. On the down side the mattress was a bit uncomfortable and squeaky, seemingly amplified by the extreme quiet inside the hotel. In fact, the hotel seemed eerily quiet, and we found ourselves tip-toeing around and trying to be quiet locking and unlocking the old doors to our room. When we came in off Duval Street late one night we felt like teenagers sneaking past our parents’ room as we passed the front desk. The courtyard area was amazing and we enjoyed cooling by in the pool after a day in the sun of Key West. Check out the pictures in the lobby area showing the before and after photos to truly appreciate what a phenomenal renovation this building has gone through.

We spent 4 nights at the Marquesa in June as a celebration of our 10 year wedding anniversary. From the moment I called and made reservations, the staff was fantastic. After making the reservation, I later saw a special on the website for a free room upgrade and contacted the hotel. They graciously offered the upgrade and made excellent suggestions for dinners, sunset sails, etc. - better than any large hotel concierge I've ever encountered. We ate at Cafe Marquesa our last night there and were amazed by the attention and service at the restaurant. Our table had tasteful, festive ribbons to celebrate our anniversary and the food was amazing.
I highly suggest a relaxing morning swim and breakfast before heading out for the day. The orchids and other plants surrounding the beautifully landscaped courtyard made our mornings in the back pool (heated pool) a peaceful oasis. As far as I could tell, it wasn't heated, or at least not noticeably so, because it was already so hot outside.
Only caveat would be: if you have any mobility challenges, be sure to ask about your room location. Ours was on the 3rd floor so required climbing and descending narrow stairs. Next time I will spring for a poolside villa - they looked heavenly!

What can I say....it was our 6th or 7th visit to Key West at the Marquesa. Perfect location ...far enough away from Duval but close enough to walk. We do not go to the Marquesa for night life but rather to recharge our batteries. It is quiet, the only sounds are the water falls located around the pools. Fresh Ice tea and cold water served all day at the pool....topped off with some watermelon!
Sara Beth's restaurant located across the street, Antonia's just a block down Duval, just a few blocks to Pepe's, close enough to walk to Sunset pier and great suggestions from the front desk on where to eat if you want to try something new.
Firm beds, great staff, and clean! Nightly turn down......fresh ice delivered to the room! Cookies on arrival, wine if you want a glass, orchids everywhere......what more can I say. ....It is the BEST!

To stay at the Marquesa is to be surrounded by the finer things. Our room was rich and comfortable. The textures in the fabrics, the nice tropical colors, all around a treat. The pool is small but quiet. This was an uncommon experience.

I stayed at Marquesa Hotel for five nights in June 2010 based on the recommendation of friends (who were also traveling with us). I can't say enough good things about this boutique hotel. The staff were very attentive - everything is spotless (even the pool-side restroom). I took advantage of the promotion they offered that provided an upgraded room. Therefore, I booked a stanrdard room but received a pool-side deluxe room. The size of the room was adequate. As I mentioned before, everything was spotless.

Upon arriving, we were treated to a glass of wine by the pool. Hotel staff was happy to point out great places to dine and sites to see. One afternoon, we were treated to fresh watermellon by the pool in addition to the water and iced tea that was offered daily. The staff was very attentive without being intrusive. There are two pools w/ adequate chairs and umbrellas.

The location of the hotel is ideal if you want to be a short walk to Duval Street but far enough away from the noise and crowds.

I highly recommend this hotel to those who appreicate boutique hotels and have high expectations.
