Although it does not call itself a hotel its worth remembering that it is not a hotel. There are no public rooms (less the lobby which is currently being renovated). The small pool incorporates a bar area which provides a poolside service and access to the Hot Tin Roof restaurant which is actually a nice place to sit, I can't comment on the quality of the food as the entire venue came across as mildly pretentious and at times in peril of disappearing up its own posterior so we ate in the town. The one room suite we had for 4 nights was a vacant timeshare with the kitchen area closed off (which was a shame), it was clean, spacious, well appointed quiet and tidy. The bathroom had a jet bath which was fun and the lounge area a big balcony facing Duval street for people watching and drying swimwear. The staff were great especially the bell hop and concierge the latter booked all are water-borne activities and seem very knowledgeable on all things Key West. Valet parking is $20 a day (there are no viable alternatives). The location of the accommodation blocks is at 0 Duval St which is surprisingly quiet after sunset considering you've got a perpetual spring break going on further up the street. Overall a good experience and not overly expensive, Key West on the other hand is an acquired taste and depending on your perspective is either a gaudy cruise ship stopover, a middle American (think Billy Ray Bob Cyrus the second) pressure relief valve, a dis guarded film set of how the Americans think the Keys should be, an historic monument or maybe all of those in varying degrees. I think a ubiquitous Key West t-shirt slogan says it all, "Key West where the weird go pro"...

Stayed here during our visit to Key West on August 2, 2012. The hotel is very nice and everyone was extremely friendly. The hotel is very clean. We had a room with a balcony that overlooked part of Mallory square and we could see the cruise ships docked. We ate Breakfast at the Hot tin roof restaurant at the hotel and the food was fantastic and the servers very friendly. We had a table by the windows watching the activity on the ocean as we ate. The hotel is right next to the ocean and Mallory square and at the base of Duval street.

We are so happy and please with our decision to stay in this hotel. It is walking distance to all the shops, nice restaurants and water excursions. Nice sunset view at Mallory Square where everyone gathers in the afternoon. The staffs especially Martha and Gabby are super nice and attentive to all our family needs. Breakfast at Hot Tin Roof is awesome!!! Our kids love it. Good food and nice view. A SAFE and EXCELLENT place to stay. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely the best. We stayed a night at this resort and a night at the Westin. Ocean Key was the best hands down. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Relaxed environment. We felt like we were at home here. Superb rooms. Very reasonable prices. Walking distance to Duval street: shops/bars/restaurants. Stay HERE!!!!!!

Room Tip: Get the view! Great balconies with deck chairs and lounge chairs.

We spent four wonderful nights at this hotel, right in the heart of all of the action on Duval Street. The view from our room was incredible! We ate at two of the restaurants (Louis, our waiter at Hot Tin Roof, was especially attentive), swam in the pool, and watched the sunset from our balcony. An expensive place to stay, but worth every penny.

Room Tip: The corner rooms, with a balcony, provide a tremendous view.

This is the perfect location in Key West. The pool area is the best and the service is fabulous. You can walk anywhere in town and are next store to Malory Square. Large rooms with lots of space for families. I have been coming here every year for about the past 5 years and I wouldn't stay any other place.

Room Tip: I usually visit with group of friends - we have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath. This room has one queen bed, o...

We were on our first visit to Key West with our 3 kids (10, 8, 6). We booked a standard room and it was very nice, decorated with classic caribbean and a pop of color on the armoire. It made it feel fun and bright. Our view was of the pool and Gulf. Bathrooms were nice but on the smaller side for a suite. The bathroom sinks are double but pedestal and there was no rooms for our toiletries. the toilet is not separated, not ideal. The closet is also in the bathroom, again not really working for me. Also, something to know about the privacy in the bathroom is that there are shutters that close from the bed side of the room. So if you are in the bathroom and your kids think its funny to open the shutters to see what you are doing, be sure to wear the bathrobes! The a/c in the room was awesome. If you put it on 68 it was 68. Many other hotels I stay at if you keep lowering it it seems to stay at 74. We like it cold and loved how cool the room stayed. The pool was very small with only one row of lounges around it but we never had an issue getting at least 2 chairs. They were very comfy and the umbrellas were handy as it was 90-95 everyday. The service at the pool was top notch. The bartenders were always helping my kids out with noodles and goggles, even some extra cherries for their drinks. We ate at Hot Tin Roof 3 times, breakfast was excellent and moderately priced. Dinner was good and expensive. The only thing I can say I did not like was how we had to walk through the parking garage to get to the elevator. I thought this very bizarre.
