We stayed at the Ocean Key Resort for 2 nights during August of 2008.
We had been to Key West before so we knew we wanted to be in the heart of the action.
This hotel is located at the fun end of Duval street but it is just far enough (2 min walk) to not be affected by the bar noise.
We knew this place would be more money than some hotel at the other end of the Island but it was worth every penny.
Check in was straightforward and they were very polite. They gave us a tour of the facility as we walked to our rooms. The room was amazing (see the pictures). We didn't have an ocean view but our balcony overlooked Mallory Square, which is the main assembly point for the nightly sunset event.
The pool at the hotel was great as well. Very well staffed and a great view into the ocean. There was a little bit of work being done on a new outside tiki bar but it didn't affect our stay at all.
We will be returning to this hotel again for sure.

If I had to be pushed for negative points or improvement oppotunities I would suggest upgrading the old tube TV's to some nice new flatscreens (not that we ever watched it!) and we also had a few ants in the room (which they made note of an and told us it would be dealt with after we left)

You never know what to expect when arriving at any hotel but this place far exceeded our expectations. The location could not be bettered. Right at the "right" end of one of the world's most famous party streets, Duval Street. Close enough to see where the action starts but far enough away to not be disturbed by any noise. Not only that most of the rooms overlook Mallory Square, or have a decent sea view.

When we arrived the staff in reception were some of the friendliest we have experienced. We were quickly shown to our room which was a good size. The bed in our room was a four poster and our view was looking out to sea and the lower end of Duval Street. The bath was a spa type and had some novelty value in as much as making for a spectacular amount of bubbles.

Key West is only small any way but the hotel in terms of location could not be faulted, the main tourist areas/facilities were more or less right outside.

Would we go back? Can't wait. But................

Valet parking was an eye watering $21.50 per day but to be fair the four days we stayed the car stayed put.

I love this resort. You can't beat the location. Everything was also very clean. It's pricey, but it's worth every penny.

When I visted, I walked around the island from that location, and had a blast. That's a great hotel. The drinks at the pool were really weak, but 2 Drunk Friends is down the street, and they have great meals and drinks there.

Our plans went out the window with IKE. Our first hotel was closed but we drove down anyway.

We were the first guests to check in after the evacuation orders were lifed and the staff seems truely excited to have guests. The service was outstanding. The room was just outstanding - having a living space seperate from the bed room is great.

The pool over looking the sunset (we did not have the sun) is just great.

Due to the storm, we did not have to pay full rates, so I could possibly down grade the value but not too much.

Stayed here for 3 days, from the moment we arrived the staff at reception were friendly, helpful and were so happy they lifted our spirits after a long, hot drive. The room was lovely, bright and colourful and overlooked Mallory Square so we could watch the etertainers and more importantly the sunsets (although thanks to Gustav we didn't managed much of a sunset) the last day Gustav hit quite a bit but it really didn't spoil our experience, we ordered room service and watched the lightening show.

You couldn't get a better location and I can highly recommend the Rum Runner cocktail
