We stayed at the Ocean Key Resort for 2 nights during August of 2008.
We had been to Key West before so we knew we wanted to be in the heart of the action.
This hotel is located at the fun end of Duval street but it is just far enough (2 min walk) to not be affected by the bar noise.
We knew this place would be more money than some hotel at the other end of the Island but it was worth every penny.
Check in was straightforward and they were very polite. They gave us a tour of the facility as we walked to our rooms. The room was amazing (see the pictures). We didn't have an ocean view but our balcony overlooked Mallory Square, which is the main assembly point for the nightly sunset event.
The pool at the hotel was great as well. Very well staffed and a great view into the ocean. There was a little bit of work being done on a new outside tiki bar but it didn't affect our stay at all.
We will be returning to this hotel again for sure.
If I had to be pushed for negative points or improvement oppotunities I would suggest upgrading the old tube TV's to some nice new flatscreens (not that we ever watched it!) and we also had a few ants in the room (which they made note of an and told us it would be dealt with after we left)
