“Cute, Quiet, Cozy”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

At the end of a cross-country road trip, I spent three nights at the Key Lime Inn in Key West, Florida. This is a historic property, where 37 guest rooms have been created out of a series of bungalows and buildings in Key West's Old Town. The location is good and is within easy walking distance of all of the restaurants and night life on Duval Street. A slightly longer walk will get you to the state park, naval station, cruise ship pier, etc. Free parking is included in the stay. I didn't move my car the whole time I was there.

The rooms themselves are cute, decorated in a clean, crisp style with dark woods plus linens and paint in white and pastels. This is not a resort and the rooms are not suites and are not necessarily packed with all of the latest amenities. But they have all of the basics and are spacious, super clean and comfortable. For a property renovated out of older buildings I was pretty impressed with the rooms.

The only negative I had was the breakfast, which was an uneventful continental affair. The meal is offered poolside but even at 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. Key West can be sunny and warm and not all of the tables were covered by shade trees or umbrellas. So even when there were tables available, it didn't always feel like there was room for all of the guests at breakfast, because someone was going to be forced to sit in the direct sun.

Still, that's a minor complaint. Overall, this is a cute little hotel and a good value in the heart of Key West.

Stayed here over the New Year's Holiday. We stayed in the Maloney House which is away from the pool. Not far from the pool, but far enough where it is quiet. I'm guessing rooms by the pool will hear the guests eating breakfast. We had a deluxe King room which was very nice. We had our own balcony as well which surpisingly was pretty big. My only "negative" if you want to call it that, is that there was only 1 place in the shower to leave your items and that was the soap holder. Everything else we left on the shower floor.

The breakfast was fine by me. Not sure why so many complaints. The Inn isn't a restaurant. If guests aren't happy with the complimentry continental breakfast, they should look elsewhere. There are plenty of resyaurants within walking distance. We were very happy with it though and started every morning with breakfast by the pool.

I would return to this Inn in the future and recommend it to friends and family!

Room Tip: Stay in the Maloney House if you want a quiet room.

Spent two days at Key Lime Inn. Staff was helpful. Rooms were cute, simple and clean. Fresh flowers in the room. Breakfast was simple but good (bagels, pastries, cereal, fruit, coffee, yoghurt) with helpful staff who offered local and national newspapers to read by the pool at breakfast.

Short walk (5 minutes) to restaurants on Duval Street. Longer walk (10-15) to bars and nightlife. Perfect distance for us.

Would definitely come back.

We spent 4 nights at this quaint little funky keys inn. Very typical of a keys cottage inn. Accommodations were clean and quiet. They served a continental breakfast daily. The staff were some of the friendliest in the keys. They accommodated guests requests when they could. The grounds were very quiet and the pool well taken care of. It is very centrally located so you can walk or bike to most restaurants or attractions. The only complaint we had was the bathroom fan in the room was connected to the light so it ran anytime the bathroom light was on and was pretty loud. Otherwise, we would return to this place.

Room Tip: There is no restaurant on premises.

A great place to relax in a wonderful setting. One of my favorite places ever! Staff and amenities are first class ! Only two blocks from Duval Street, but quiet enough not to disturb sleeping hours. Five Stars and thumbs up! Almost as good as the famous, local key lime pie...

My fiance and I stayed a the Inn for Christmas and enjoyed it immensely. A fantastic location just a short walk from Duffy's and a couple of blocks from Duval Street. The Inn has a very helpful and friendly staff and accommodations. Our room (#13) was half of a cabin and featured wood floors, tile by the sink and bathroom, and had a small refrigerator. The bed was perfectly comfy (maybe 3.5 or 4 out of 5). Oddly, there was no microwave, but there was a Keurig with a few K-cups provided. A nice touch. The area next to our cabin had a hammock and Adirondack chairs, which we made sure to use appropriately for napping.

We were worried when we pulled in on our motorcycles and saw the gravel parking lot, but the staff was very resourceful and let us park by our cabin and provided pre-cut wood blocks to use as kickstand pucks. Good thinking ahead, and they had obviously thought through this before.

Most of the staff was quite conversational and would chat with you beyond just a "hello" if you were not in a hurry. The entire place seemed very serene and unhurried. Precisely what we were looking for.

Room Tip: Rooms with lower numbers (below about 15) are in smaller cabins. The higher numbers are generally in...

My wife and I spent two nights at the Key Lime Inn a few days before Christmas. We had requested an early check in after coming in on an overnight flight, and arrived to find our room was ready and staff upgraded us to a larger room. The sectional couch was very comfortable and coffee in the room was good quality. We loved the location - three blocks from Duvall St - everything was an easy walk, but quiet and serene when we returned to our room. The pool was a nice amenity, even if a bit chilly in the shade. Breakfast was adequate - more European than American - but yogurt and hard boiled eggs provided a good start to the day. The front desk staff were extremely welcoming and readily provided directions and discounts to nearby attractions. The bathroom is ready for a renovation (even a fresh coat of paint would help), but was clean and comfortable. We would happily return to the Key Lime Inn.
