Great veiw from the top of the entire island but ut us a little $$$ for what it is. You can be in and out in 30 minutes. If you are a regular visitor to Key West it is cool to go to and see at least once but if you are a first timer there are more interesting things to see. I think they do sell combo tickets at some of the tour stands in town though that include the Hemingway House, Shipwreck Mueseum, Mel Fishers etc... and if included with those it would be worth the trip. Cool lighthouse though and the fees do go to the lighthouse to help keep it up.

The lighthouse and the beach around are beautifull. If you like snorkeling before the lighthouse there is a pier with many colofull fishes. The water is warm but there is a strong sea current. The fishes are beautiful !!!

The Museum has program that allows active duty members and their families to see the light house museum for free. This was a fun excursion for our family and the price was right.

We loved visiting the Key West lighthouse. We didn't have to wait in line and we practically had the place to ourselves. (We didn't want to wait in line for the Hemingway house, so we were glad to find this place right across the street). It's a scary climb to the top, but once you're up there, the view is incredible. The Keepers Quarters was interesting too. Not a bad price either, at $5 a person (students).

This was a really cool piece of history of Key West. The view from the top of the lighthouse was fantastic and the plaques were very informative. The keepers quarters was interesting and provided more local history of Key West. Pretty cool piece of history.
