Summary: Informative tour will point out the interesting things about Key West, but because it lacks a framework, it feels like a list of bullet points.
Traveling with a toddler, we had to pick our activities in Key West carefully. We chose the Conch Tour Train based on the TripAdvisor reviews. We wanted to learn about the town a bit since it clearly had a colorful history.
We thought that the Conch Tour Train would be a good way to get a crash course in what the town was about. And it was - but it was more of a "look at this example of this type of architecture," then "there's the Catholic grotto where Sister So-And-So Prayed" - just a long list of tidbits. The tour would have been much more interesting and powerful if it were woven into a chronological narrative about the history of the town. I wanted to know the source of Key West's famous quirkiness, and instead I got a pile of facts.
It's worthwhile and I recommend it, but don't expect it to be a 0-60 primer on the town.
