We stayed at the "big house" 916 center street. The location is great, the house was clean and nice! not luxurious but better than average. We had no problems, and needed nothing really from the staff, but they did come by everyday and offer towels and bathroom essentials. We did loose a key to the place (do not do that, $100 to replace). We made sure the place was clean when we left and again had no issues. Great price, great location, and better then average room! we will be back!

We stayed here for a week in Tropical retreat. Beds were horrible, too saggy and small. I saw a million bugs crawling in the bathroom and the kitchen- yes I know we are in a tropical climate but I've stayed in other places in Mexico and the Carribean and never experienced this. Maybe this is how Key West is or the management has poor upkeep of their rooms. I spoke to someone at their "front desk" which was basically a teeny desk in a storefront, and they said they would look into it, no one came.
It was nice having a private pool and also having a place for my dog. The location is ideal, just a block from Duval, but if I definitely would not stay again until I know the insect problems are resolved.

All of our units are treated monthly by Orkin Pest Control. We have never had a complaint about insects in our units other than SUGAR ANTS which are tiny ants attracted to things like food/crumbs on counter tops, toothpaste in bathrooms. Everyone in Key West has encountered sugar ants! We provide a can of insect spray in everyone of our units, under the kitchen sink, if someone encounters a problem with these miniscule ants. Sugar ants are just a part of life in Key West and we inform our guests to keep countertops clean so as not to attract them.

As far as the beds go, how can beds be "too small"! A king is a king, a queen is a queen, a twin is a twin. These are standardized sizes by the manufacturer of beds! The beds are pillow top and we have never had a complaint about our beds.

As far as the complaint about our office, unbelieavable! Our office is over 400 s.f. comprised of 4 different rooms! Yes, there is a desk in the check-in area, which is what one would expect. This entrance office is decorated in a tropical cottage motif with hand painted blue walls with a wash of white/silver and chair railing around. There is art, collections of old Key West bottles, Key West shells and a delightful tin roof canopy over the receptions desk area. There is also a front office space where guests can sit and read magazines while they wait for taxis to pick them up or wait for registration. The middle office which can be closed off with a sliding glass door is our reservation office with 3 computers and our reservationists. The rear office space has our public restroom which is beautifully appointed.

I can only surmise that this is a guest "looking" for a discount when one should never have been offered! They say they will write a bad review if we don't offer them a discount, thus this review!

Comments about Mermaid's Cove: There are no dressers for clothing and little to no closet space. You will have to walk past smelly garbage cans to get into and out of the cottages because they are in back of and above a deli. There is no parking, so you will have to park a few blocks away. There are rat traps in upper cottage (which I guess is to be expected because it's over a deli). The air conditioners are noisy. The beds are uncomfortable (except of the pink cottage and the apt over the deli). The community chairs in the commons area are extremely uncomfortable. The shower in the pink cottage has a cracked floor and water goes through (floor seems unsupported and very unsafe). No outlets in the bathrooms so you have to shave and blow dry hair in living room, but living room is so dark it is difficult to see (in pink cottage). Decking by door of purple cottage sinks quite a bit when you walk on it (seems unsafe). Pink and purple cottages need more lights in the cottages. The corner of pink cabin has low metal roof that sticks out and can cut heads easily as people walk by. The pool is located blocks away.
The positive comments are that it is in the heart of the town, but not in a noisy neighborhood (even though it is next to an adult entertainment business).

We stayed in Bahama Breeze in 2009. What a great rental - a total gem! We thought the photos looked very impressive on the Center Court website but wondered would it look the same when we arrived - boy were we surprized! The bedrooms were larger then they looked in the photos and the cottage was immaculately clean. The beds were so comfortable and the shower was great.

We enjoyed the hot tub each evening and sat on the little porch to the front and ate breakfast every morning and watched the Conch Train pass by. Waving at everyone on the train was a lot of fun! One evening we got some great steak from Faustos and bbq'd on the deck - what a great night!

We rented bikes so we didn't touch the car the whole time we were there except to drive to New Town for some groceries. We had our own private parking spot which was great as parking can be a pain in parts of Old Town. Location wise, Bahama Breeze really suited us - it is at the quieter arty end of Duval. It is right between Hemmingway House and the Southernmost Point.

All in all this was a great rental unit. The company we booked with were friendly and professional. We will be back!!!!

What started out as an anniversary weekend for us turned out to be a horribly expensive and very unhappy trip thanks to Center Court. We live In Key Largo and decided to head to Key West for a short anniversary trip. After a lot of searching I found Center Court and wished I never did. I should have read the other reviews before I booked it. We got there in the dark at about 6:00 PM. Our dinner reservations were for 6:30 so no big deal, park the car, find the room and head to dinner and a nice evening. Well from the start the entire experience was a disaster. After driving around for 45 minutes trying to find a place to park just to get to our room and now missing our dinner reservations, we decided to just give up because at that point we were getting very cranky and just wanted to find a place to sleep for the night. I placed a call to the "emergency" number and got some very annoying hyper person on the other end, I think her name was "Jackie" but at that point I could have cared less what her name was. After going round and round with her she finally said "oh I can find you a place to park" and I wondered why she put us through the battering back and forth and why not just say that from the start? I told her we were just going to return the key and head out of town. When we returned the key, the place she said she could find us a parking spot had not one spot left! So much for her help! We dropped the key off, drove through Wendy's and stayed the night at the Travelodge for an additional $250 on top of the $160 we already paid Center Court. When we disputed Center Court's charges, they resubmitted the charge and we ended up paying Center Court for nothing and for ruining our weekend. Guess they need the money more than we do.

Note to self and you, do not stay at Center Court unless you do not need a car or a place to park and do not want to deal with hyper annoying people.

When this guest called asking where to park, I gave him parking instructions and he responded very rudely that he was already heading back up to Key Largo as he was late for his dinner reservation. I apologized but would have gladly given him information about where to park if he had called earlier, prior to missing a dinner reservation. We are always very helpful in giving information and assistance to our guests.

We have stayed at Center Court several times over the past 10 years. In the past, we could depend on all the rooms and condos to be exemplary, offering the best beds, the finest amenities and wonderful service each time we came to visit. Naomi insisted on all of her properties to be first rate.
We returned to Key West in February after a 3 year absence and did not hesitate to stay at Center Court.
We were tremendously disappointed.
We stayed at the Bermuda Suite this time, one of a group of 6 condos on Center Street that we have visited in the past. When we first opened the door to the condo, we encountered a moldy smell. The furniture in the condo was dinged, the carpet on the second floor was filthy, the fan in the living room did not work, the bedroom air-conditioner was noisy and did not cool well and the hot water heater offered only enough hot water for one brief shower.
We were so disappointed since, as I noted above, these condos in the past were top-notch.

Center Court has built it's reputation by word of mouth, great accommodations, cleanliness friendly service. That is what keeps our guests coming back year after year and bringing their friends and family as well. We feel that it is very important to keep each of the homes, villas, condos and efficiencies in top notch condition. We provide guests with emergency contact numbers and have an office staffed 9am to 6pm 365 days a year. If our guests come accross any maintenance or housekeeping issues at all during the course of their stay we are available 24/7 to resolve the problem in a prompt and courteous manner. Our housekeeping staff did not note any of the issues nor did we receive a phone call or any type of mention of a noisy ac, broken fan, mold smell, or hot water heater problems with the Villa from you, the previous guests or the guests that stayed after your departure. We would love you to come back and stay with us again and will work with you to ensure a more pleasant experience at Center Court.
