Beautiful and clean. Stayed in frangipani suite which was right next to main house, had own porch and private entrance. The pool was nice and breakfast was really good, I liked that it wasn't all sweet pastries-hard boiled eggs, and non sugary cereals, toast, fresh fruit, etc. but muffins were good and usually fresh and warm, yum!

Great location, duval st is easy walk but not right in the crazy action, so you get a nice retreat.

Being unfamiliar with Key West accommodations, we decided to try the Conch House for our visit in late March. We enjoyed it so much we can't wait to get back! It was perfection and beyond our highest expectations. The hospitality was wonderful, and the inn and grounds were beautifully maintained. It was quietly situated, yet only a couple of blocks from fun-filled Duval St. Thank you, Ammie, and staff for wonderful get-away. We will see you again! Pam and Jim

My husband and I spent our first vacation to Key West at the Conch House Heritage Inn during the last week of March 2014 and couldn't have been happier with our choice. First of all, the staff was wonderful. (Every morning Ammie asked us if we wanted juice or mimosas.) Breakfast was exactly what we needed: coffee, tea, yogurt, bagels, toast, cereal (both hot and cold), fresh fruit, pastries and wonderful coconut and banana breads. I loved eating by the pool every morning, (usually I was the only one poolside), and there is also a table indoors and furniture on the porch where breakfast can be enjoyed. On several days, we brought lunch back to eat at the round outdoor table by the pool.

The pool is not big, but perfect as there are just a handful of guests to share it. I found myself the only one in it twice during our 6 day stay (with 4 people at the most). As a short woman (5'2''), the deep end was just over my head, which is a nice depth for a b&b pool. Six lounge chairs encompass the pool and during our visit they were never all occupied at the same time. A fence, palm trees and sweet-smelling jasmine make a the whole outdoor space a private paradise.

We stayed in the Caribbean room, which is the downstairs room of the poolside cottage. On previous vacations, we were used to staying at places where a long elevator-ride was mandatory for each trip to the pool. It was nice in the Caribbean room to open our door and have the pool within steps. We always left our door unlocked for dips in the pool because we could see it from anywhere in the enclosed pool area. We made use of our ceiling fan every day, although the air conditioning unit did its job. The Caribbean room has a big shower that is easily accessible to those who may not be able to step high or who may need the assistance of a safety bar. Lots of windows make this room bright and sunny. The bed was comfortable. We would chose this room again. (I can’t speak about any of the other rooms because I didn’t see them).

The main house is a beautiful, old place, but doesn’t have an out-dated feel. There is history in the many framed photos and paintings adorning the walls. The are many common areas, including a balcony that overlooks Truman Street. There is a water dispenser that has hot or cold filtered water available 24/7. (The tap water is fine, but we like ice cold water.)

The location is convenient. A CVS and a Subway are a block away for some comforts of home. (We made some quick trips when we ran out of sunscreen and when we wanted a quick lunch). There are several nice restaurants within a stone’s throw. The Conch House is a block and a half from Duval, which is where the action is. Consequently, the property is quiet, yet is still close walking distance to some of the restaurants, galleries. bars and shops. We are walkers in our everyday life, so on vacation we didn’t mind walking all the way down Duval (toward Mallory Square) twice each day, once for shopping and sight-seeing, and again for dinner, sunset celebration and nightlife. For those who don’t walk far, bikes and motorized vehicles are available for rent right next door.

We spent most of our time exploring the island, but it was nice to come back to a place that is as cozy and clean as home. There was always a basket of clean beach towels on the porch, which Ammie told me we are welcome to take with us to the beach. Our rooms were made up with care. It was nice to see the same smiling faces greet us each day. You can’t go wrong with the Caribbean room at the Conch House!

Where does one stay in Key West? A place that's easy to find, can accommodate your car with no problem, and makes all your stress vanish in minutes. That's the Conch House! Good location, close to the east end of Duval and away from crazy revelers on the west end. Rooms are lovely, roomy, and cool. There's a pool that we kept thinking we would use, but once we got to the room, it was but a forgotten thought because the room was so comfortable. Property is lovely, well-maintained, with everything you'd want and then some. Nice breakfast by the pool. Sam, the owner, was friendly and helpful and then left us to our own devices, although we always felt that if we needed something, he'd be there. That is the definition of a great innkeeper!

Room Tip: We had the Frangipani Room, which had its own little porch, a lovely place to relax and read.

For our first visit to Key West I did significant research on where to stay. My wife and I like a convenient location that allows us to walk to most of the restaurants and sites that we will frequent. I selected the Conch House Heritage Inn because of the reviews on Trip Advisor and was fortunate to get the Marquesa for our room. The room is on the second floor of the pool house and is bright, very well maintained and comfortable. It was also very quiet. The Inn is located two blocks from Duval St. and it was an easy walk to our restaurants as well as Mallory Square, Truman's Little White House and the Butterfly Conservatory. Breakfasts were great and we enjoyed eating on the porch at the pool. I thought that I would make one visit to Key West in my life, however, after the wonderful stay at The Conch House I believe another visit is in order.

Stayed here in early March and had another wonderful experience. This time we were in the Cayo Hueso room and it was delightful in every way. We had access to the wrap around porch where we could sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, fresh baked muffins and pastries. The staff are wonderful and go out of there way to make sure you have a pleasant visit. And you will!

We recently returned from a 4-night stay at the Conch House Heritage Inn, in Key West, Florida and we wanted to share with everyone just how special it was. We stayed in the Marquesa room, which is ideally located on the top floor of the pool house and overlooked a lovely, landscaped pool area. Our room was spotless and extremely quiet, plus everything worked -- and worked WELL! That can't always be said for many B&Bs, especially older ones. There was always plentiful hot water, the air conditioner fan didn't cycle on and off, like so many of them do, and there is plenty of room in the Marquesa. The breakfast was good, especially on Sunday when mini-quiches were added to the usual fare of coffee cakes, date-and-nut bread, hard-boiled eggs, bread, bagels, Danish, yogurt and fruit. Coffee, tea and juice were also provided, plus there are plenty of great places to sit, eat your food, and enjoy the warm Key West sun while you're reading a newspaper or magazine. Sam, the proprietor, really knows what he is doing and the Conch House is the result of Sam's great business acumen as well as his ideas of how to keep his guests happy in every way. We had such a great time that we have already booked for a longer stay in 2015. What more can we say? We LOVED it at the Conch House Heritage Inn in Key West, and we know you will, too!

Also important: the Conch House is centrally located on Truman Ave., which is less than two blocks from the heart of Duval Street. AND there is ample parking in the Conch House's own adjoining lot for a mere $5 per day additional, so no more hikes into nearby neighborhoods to fetch your 'wheels' when you book at stay at the Conch House.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Marquesa which may be the quietest room of all. But I don't think I would worr...
