“Location is the best, the mansion is like a museum.”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

I stayed for two nights, the 3rd weekend of January 2013, the house is a nice charming old mansion. I thought I got a really good room (207), with a big comfy bed, and nicely decorated with a 4 poster canopy bed. There wrap around blacony that we had access to directly from the room, it overlooked Caroline Street and a part of Duval. It was the perfect spot to chill with a cocktail before heading out for the night....Oh! The staff was fantastic.

The two reasons this Inn got only an average rating was:
1. The air conditioner was so loud it was useless, If you turned it on, you could not sleep, if you opened the windows, you heard the noise from Duval Street. It was horrible.

2. The price $315 per night would have been justifiable if the air conditioner worked properly. I could have stayed at the Casa Marina for the same money with more amenities and comfort.

Room Tip: Maybe a roon at the back of the mansion would have been better for sleep quality, but no room access...

Beautiful mansion, great room (210), friendly staff, in the middle of the action with the ultimate Key West feeling, not your typical chain hotel, but truly special, breakfast and happy hour included, comfortable bed and lots of parking.

Room Tip: Recommend room 210, King bed, 2 bathrooms, balcony.

Perfect relaxing retreat for a four day weekend getaway. Would happily stayed longer if schedule allowed. The main house is beautiful and open for exploration. Our spacious and comfortable room overlooked the quiet pool area. It was quiet and private. The table and chairs on the covered deck just outside our door was perfect for enjoying the warm breezes. All of the staff were warm, friendly, helpful. Breakfast each day was delicious, lots of choices and made to order eggs and omelets. Cocktail hour was delightful with a piano player and fresh, abundant snacks. This is not a place for noisy kids and teens. It has the air if an old southern plantation, sophisticated, yet fun and relaxing, felt like home only better with no chores to do. From our deck there was only the faintest hint of music at night from Duval St, in the room, silence. Wonderful location, no car required, easy walk or bike ride to everything. Short taxi ride to airport.

Room Tip: Our corner room overlooking the pool was perfect.

...is their best room and we had the fortune of staying there for 5 nights last October. This room has the enormous balcony above the front porch. At night you cannot be seen from anywhere up there ;-) The location is great and everyone is friendly and helpful.

Every evening we had a few Happy Hour cocktails then made our way to the Square. Come back at night for a soak in our spa tub and drinks on the balcony while watching the always entertaining activity on the street. I would not stay anywhere else.

I spent a lovely 5 nights at the Curry Mansion Inn the first week of DecemberThe inn is for you if you don't mind a bit of noise from the bands playing in the bars. Key west is a very lively town in other words "the party never ends" . Our room at the curry mansion was a lovely space in the st James house which is part of the inn on the other side of the road. Very large room with a king bed and full bathroom. Best of all a wee balcony to sit on! The room was painted a nice pale shade of yellow with nice blinds to block out the sun in the morning. The pool area is quite small so if you like to sun at the pool this can only be done a few hours of the day. Nice little plunge pool which was fine for us! Breakfast is included...eggs cooked to order, sweet cakes, all sorts of bread and jams, coffee tea and juices! Great way to start the day!!! Cocktails start at 5 with lots of choices!
Overall the curry mansion inn is a fantastic deal the rooms in the st James house are. Much nicer than the rooms near the pool. You are 1/2 block from duvel and all of the action! Fantastic restaurants that are walking distance.overall very good...take note small pool and some rooms seemed very small ask for room in st James house. Edith was very helpful and Stephen was a doll no request was too much! The rooms have a fridge and new teles!

Room Tip: Choose a room in the st James house for more room and more piece and quiet! Room 307 is lovely!!!

We checked in for a quick weekend getaway and we were greeted by Steve from the rooftop as we got out of our car. He was actually putting up the giant Christmas decoration, but quickly ran down and registered us. It was quick and efficioent, then he took us to our room in the mansion. The room wasn't big (we are in a historic building after all) but was clean and had a lot of history.
The location of the mansion is just a few steps from Duvall St and about another block or so down from Sloppy Joes. Talk about a great location! Breakfast in the morning was great and the happy hour was super. Both nights of our stay we met other couples there and ended up celebrating the night away with them.

The feeling one gets when staying here is that you are part of the family. Someone is always around to answer questions and the owners are active in the running of the house.

This was our first time at the Curry Mansion, but we won't be staying anywhere else in Key West again.

Room Tip: We loved the Queen room in the Mansion

Personally I love the old world charm, free breakfast and endless Happy Hour. The Hotel is the oldest home in Key West , once owned by a Key Salvager. It is also a museum of sorts. The rooms are Clean, and Comfortable.

Room Tip: I think i Prefer the rooms accross the street which are in the old slave quarters.
