We (myself, wife, & adult daughter) stayed Wednesday to Sunday over Thanksgiving weekend at the Curry Mansion (James Place). Have stayed in KW many times but this was our 1st stay at the Curry Mansion. When we arrived the Mansion's dining room table was elegantly set up for a formal dinner with fine antique China, glassware, and cutlery. Lady Edith, the owner, had her family in town. The family did not have Thanksgiving dinner there and the table settings were removed after Thanksgiving but this really added to the charm and ambience of the mansion. The Curry Mansion has a great location 1/2 block from Duval Street and convenient to everything. The entire complex is exceptionally clean. The rooms are clean & quiet, the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating. When you factor in the great breakfast, the cocktail hour, and the free parking included, this really provides value to your cost of stay. Lady Edith is a delight to have a conversation with. You can tell the staff loves and respects her. She is a great source for historical information. You can be sure future visits to KW will include staying at the Curry Mansion.

Room Tip: Stay in the James House across the street and part of the complex. It is more like a hotel than B&am...

Myself, my daughter and niece recently spent an extended weekend at the Curry Mansion and aside from the outside of the building needing a little tlc, its a very interesting place and we had a great time. I would recommend this place to anyone. Rooms were very clean and spacious. We are Jersey Girls and the owner Edith is a lovely New Jersey ex pat. The mansion is filled with beautiful antiques and memorabilia from the area and Edith's life. There is a nice courtyard area with a splash pool and tables and umbrellas. A made to order breakfast is served in this area and its a great area to mix and mingle with the other guests. Happy Hour is fantastic with help yourself wines, beers, mixers for gin, etc. a nice appetizer selection and nightly keyboard or guitar. Actually Bubba the singer and guitar player was a very interesting quirky guy. Typical Key West character. The amazing part of this place was that even though it is only 1/2 block in from Duval. It felt secluded, intimate and quiet. You will not be disappointed.

We always stay here when we visit KW in January. We prefer the James House across the street, but all the room options are fine... not the best ever, but roomy, clean and just fine. The main reasons we like the Curry Mansion: great staff, cleanliness, good quality breakfast (including omlet station) and cocktail hour where you meet other guests (piano or gitar player each evening), and location. We can come and go to Duval Street as we wish...it is literally a 1/4 block from the middle of things. Most evenings we go to cocktail hour, visit with other guests, and then take a drink with us to Mallory Square (5 min walk) for the sunset. You can hear music when going to bed, but it isn't a big deal ... very, very muted with the windows and patio door closed. Makes me smile and off to sleep... Excellent lodging option.

We spent a weekend at Curry Mansion Bed and Breakfast and had a wonderful time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cocktail hour (2 hours) in the evening gave us the chance to meet other guests in a very relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is very close to the Duval Street scene without the noise. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will look forward to another trip to paradise in the future.

I stayed for two nights, the 3rd weekend of January 2013, the house is a nice charming old mansion. I thought I got a really good room (207), with a big comfy bed, and nicely decorated with a 4 poster canopy bed. There wrap around blacony that we had access to directly from the room, it overlooked Caroline Street and a part of Duval. It was the perfect spot to chill with a cocktail before heading out for the night....Oh! The staff was fantastic.

The two reasons this Inn got only an average rating was:
1. The air conditioner was so loud it was useless, If you turned it on, you could not sleep, if you opened the windows, you heard the noise from Duval Street. It was horrible.

2. The price $315 per night would have been justifiable if the air conditioner worked properly. I could have stayed at the Casa Marina for the same money with more amenities and comfort.

Room Tip: Maybe a roon at the back of the mansion would have been better for sleep quality, but no room access...

Beautiful mansion, great room (210), friendly staff, in the middle of the action with the ultimate Key West feeling, not your typical chain hotel, but truly special, breakfast and happy hour included, comfortable bed and lots of parking.

Room Tip: Recommend room 210, King bed, 2 bathrooms, balcony.

Perfect relaxing retreat for a four day weekend getaway. Would happily stayed longer if schedule allowed. The main house is beautiful and open for exploration. Our spacious and comfortable room overlooked the quiet pool area. It was quiet and private. The table and chairs on the covered deck just outside our door was perfect for enjoying the warm breezes. All of the staff were warm, friendly, helpful. Breakfast each day was delicious, lots of choices and made to order eggs and omelets. Cocktail hour was delightful with a piano player and fresh, abundant snacks. This is not a place for noisy kids and teens. It has the air if an old southern plantation, sophisticated, yet fun and relaxing, felt like home only better with no chores to do. From our deck there was only the faintest hint of music at night from Duval St, in the room, silence. Wonderful location, no car required, easy walk or bike ride to everything. Short taxi ride to airport.

Room Tip: Our corner room overlooking the pool was perfect.
