This is an exciting way to visit Tortugas National Park. My husband wanted to see this from a historical perspective and me, I went along for the ride, although I was a bit nervous.
We had the early morning flight and had to be there for 7.30 to leave at 8am. First off, the early start didn't appeal but believe me it was well worth it. You have the place to yourself except for 20 folks from the two seaplanes, before the ferry arrives at 10.30 spilling out 100+ passengers. Another bonus with the early flight, it's all done in pleasant temperatures before the sun starts belting down. You start to board again at 11.10am to return, so it's only a half day attraction but well worth the effort of getting out of bed early.
The views from the seaplane are amazing, the pilot skims down really low so you get a chance to see turtles etc.
Our pilot was very friendly, informative and helpful (helping you off and on the seaplane).
A good morning all round and back in time for lunch in Key West.
