Great people, breakfast was very good. Was great to have relaxing drink at bar served by "Billy the Greek". The staff is knowledgable. Only change would be to get room without patio, unless of pool area our view was of parking lot and was never used.

Stayed: December 2013, travelled as a couple

Staff were excellent and were always helpful when we needed anything. A lovely outdoor pool and bar area which we frequented every night of our stay. Waiters at the breakfast were very attentive to our needs. Especially liked the shuttle bus which always was on schedule.

We stayed at the DoubleTree in Key West in December 2013 for 2 nights. I will comment on the room and the quality of services.

Room: the standard room will suffice for a short term stay of maximum of 3-4 nights, then it may get too small. The room was clean and the maid did a great job of cleaning. The TV is small but if you are watching TV for more than 10 minutes then you should ask why you are in Key West.

Service: we encountered an issue with our room (the former customer smoked in the room) and the front desk promptly moved us (without upgrade) to a new room. All the people we met were great. The shuttle to Duval Street is great. The bar around the pool is a great way to spend some time waiting for the shuttle.

I would comment on price but every person experiences different prices.

Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was fabulous.
Husband was there for a business meeting (he said facilities were great) and the rest of us tagged along for a vacation.
My only complaint would be that it's a ways out of town. There is a shuttle, but it only runs on the hour.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was perfect. The rooms are very clean with small sofa, desk and small refrigerator, however no microwave.
The breakfast buffet has eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruits, cereals and the servers are fantastic, especially Adam.
One favorite was sitting by the pool and hot tub, which the entire area and restrooms were kept miraculously clean by Oscar. Wow what a fantastic employee. Make sure to thank him as he deserves it.
Interestingly I was a bit concerned being so close to the airport about noise, but you hardly notice it and actually it is cool to see the planes take off.
Our other favorite is the free shuttle to downtown. It leaves every hour on the hour, and if full (holds 20 people) they bring a second bus. Hopefully you get the shuttle driver who gives you a funny verbal tour as you drive along.
Once downtown there are two stops. The first is by Mallory Square and is where most people get off as it is the closest to the action. The other is essentially at the other end of Duvall street and close to Southern Most Point. They pick-up the first stop at 20 past the hour and the other at half past. Shuttles run until 11pm but a cab is cheap if you stay out later.
Places we recommend: Caroline's and Fogarty's for food; Hogs a Breath for drinks, and don't miss seeing the Sunset.
So very clean hotel, great staff and shuttle makes to town very convenient!!
