“Nice, Convenient, and Pricey”

This is a nice hotel. It is just 500 feet from Duval Street and 700 feet from Mallory Dock. The pool is a tad small and in December gets less sun because of building shadows. The "beach" is close to non existent. However, complaining about that when it is sunny and 82 degrees is a bit harsh. The poolside staff is very attentive. The SHOR restaurant is a very fine dining spot. The Key West seafood hot pot appetizer is worth dining there, even if you are not staying there. The big knock is the prices. $40 for a breakfast for two is high. Internet is an extra. We prepaid our trip and had all sorts of resort charges as add ons. I am sure all the chain hotels do it. I might want to check out the independents next time.

My husband and I stayed here for the Thanksgiving week. We have been guests here a few years back and were pleasantly surprised that the rooms have been updated again. They are stylish, comfortable and spacious. We are regulars to KW so we are not in much need of direction so our interaction with staff was minimal. With that being said the few times we had encounters with the staff, they were exceptional. Max at the front door was helpful and very humorous. We were waiting in the lounge area in front of the hotel for some friends to arrive from out of town and Max kept us in stitches while he was still accomplishing his duties.

Room Tip: If you can get a room at the end of the hall, the highest numbered room, they are bigger with a 2nd...

A nice hotel, but seemed rather overpriced relative to other similar properties on the island, and other Hyatt properties in other locations. The room was excellent - clean, comfortable and nicely decorated! The grounds though were just OK, and the restaurant (based on the one meal I ate there) was not worth the price.

The location is excellent - the hotel itself is quiet but it is near the busy downtown main street and docks.

Really price was my only objection. I stay in a lot of hotels in roughly this range, but the price / value just didn't live up to other Hyatt properties where I've stayed. In general this is an excellent brand so they set a very high standard.

Room Tip: The partial view rooms really don't have much view, probably not worth the upgrade.

Just a note to mention the most welcome, friendly reception received at any hotel I stayed in Florida over the last week including the Westin Key West (best bed) and Marriott Harbor Fort Lauderdale (biggest rip off $$$$ and worst bed) Hyatt Key West's Bridgett and Pete were professional and made us feel like we were their family coming for a visit all at the same time. That's customer service you can't teach! Bridgett and Pete you are Hyatt's secret weapon Thank you again Barbara Russack

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location near Duval but far enough away to be nice and quiet after a night out. Poolside bar and pool are great but forget the "beach" area. Not much to speak about there, but beaches are not really a major part of the Key West landscape. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

My wife and I selected the Hyatt Resort and Spa for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in Feb 2014. I called the Resort and spoke to Marife 12/9/2013 who works in the Concierge Dept., ask if there was a way to put us in a special room that some friends recommended for our Anniversary. I have to say "what a truly wonderful experience" it was. Marife said that she would see what she could do to accommodate my request and was so nice to talk to and literally the same day, I received confirmations that it was done and everyone from the front desk manager, and Adam the rooms manager, who just happened to also call me to congratulate my wife and I and thanking us in selecting his resort, to several other hotel staff, help with the special request I made to Marife that same day. So...not even there yet to write a review of our stay and I can say I have never had such a professional, caring and truly amazing experience prior to arriving on any vacation I had. Thank you Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa!

Room Tip: Call ahead when you have a special occasions and ask for recommendation's from the resort staff...

We stayed at the Hyatt Key West Resort for 2 nights towards the end of our honeymoon trip in the US.

We were very happy overall with the hotel facilities, and our room. The bathroom was great, absolutely enormous, particularly the shower.

The hotel is in a fantastic location - on the waterfront, short walk to Duval Street and the marina areas.

Our room was clean and nicely decorated. Our balcony was a bit small to be of much use, and we only really had a view of palm trees with a bit of ocean right at the back.

We really enjoyed the turtles - very cute touch, and the parrot.

My only issue was that we arrived to check in at about 3pm - and were told that the room was still waiting to be cleaned. It was almost 5pm before we were able to get into the room. I've never experienced such a late check in before! However the desk staff were very nice about it, and we were also given a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to say congratulations on our honeymoon, which was a very sweet touch.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone, and I would love to stay there again if we ever have the chance to go back to Key West.

Hi Michelle! We really enjoyed having you as a guest recently, and really appreciate you taking the time to leave a nice review. I'm so glad you were happy with the service you received from the staff, despite the inconvenience of the later-than-normal check-in. We certainly appreciate your consideration of your entire experience with us, and are happy it was an enjoyable one for your honeymoon. We hope to see you again on your next visit to our island!
