“Fantastic”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

Spent a long weekend in mid December 2013 with several other couples to see Hot Tub Limo play at Sloppy Joe's! Front desk staff extremely polite and helpful. Our room was very clean and was cleaned each day by Clarissa who did a fantastic job. We did not upgrade to an Ocean view room, but our room had small balcony with a great side view of the water. Pool area is very clean with a nice pool side bar (Blue Majito) with big TV and comfortable seating! Great for football watching. Waiters attend to you poolside and very pleasant as well (thank you Benny). All the staff was very polite. Beach is very small and has a lot of private parties/weddings. Location is great. Walking distance to Duval, Mallory Square and the restaurants right on the water. Hotel food is expensive, but that was expected. We chose to eat at Alonso's and Boat House Bar & Grill (The Commodore). HAPPY HOUR! Both places are a short walk on the pier. Half price food and drinks. We would walk each evening and go to both places if we could. Also along the pier in between these two restaurants was the White Tarpon I think. 50 cent oysters and a deli inside that has excellent breads and deli & breakfast sandwiches. Short walk down is Conch Republic and Schooner's Wharf. Must walk to Pepe's for breakfast! A group of us went charter fishing on (Linda D IV) with Capt. Craig and caught tuna and other fish. Highly recommend Craig and mate Matt. They were professional and made sure that all caught fish and enjoyed themselves. Recommend spending the money to rent a golf cart at the hotel to tour the island. The 3 hour deal is worth it. I've been to Key West several times and the golf cart was a great way to actually see a lot of the island that you can't walk to. The only negative was wind blowing under the door of our room. A couple of nights it was very loud and woke us up. This was easily fixed with a towel along bottom of doorway. A big thank you to Colleen & Gary, gettingmarriedinkeywest.com, who recommended staying at the Hyatt and gave us insight into all the extra curricular fun! I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back!

Room Tip: Ask for room with partial view of water if possible.

Wonderful motel on the water. Our room was great and all of the staff were so friendly and eager to help us out. We enjoyed the pool and sun deck areas and bar and food service so much we ended up spending a lot of our time at the resort! You can walk out the door and you are in the heart of everything!

When we first got to town we did the city bus tour and it was so fun and interesting and gives you an idea of the places you will want to check out on your own!

We stayed at this hotel during Christmas and we really enjoyed our stay there. Our room had a balcony with partial view of the ocean. Duval street was just a block walking distance as well as Mallory Square. The whirlpool is really nice to relax. The hotel will charge $20 for parking and most likely you will not need the car while staying there. We rented Jet skis and bikes from hydro thunder rental right from Hyatt property. They have a small place where you can play chess and foosball. Our son wished they had a ping pong table. We had breakfast at the Shor restaurant and it was really good. The drinks and food at the Blue Mojito is good too.

My wife and I spent five nights here with our dog at Christmas and had a wonderful time. The resort is beautiful and has amazing views of the water where you can watch beautiful sail boats and sporty jet skiers moving effortlessly. The staff is friendly and professional. We were greeted at check-in with champagne and smiles. Dylan not only helped us with our luggage but gave us a tour of the resort. Our room was great and we loved the modern decor. We had a standard room which was just a little on the small side so I encourage you to look at an upgrade for a larger room because the larger rooms have bigger balconies and better views of the gulf. The resort is well located in Old Town, within walking distance of all of the Old Town attractions that most tourists in Key West will want to visit. The hotel also has an impressive array of rental vehicles on-site (everything from bikes to golf carts and scooters) to help you explore. Moreover, A short drive from the resort is Fort Zachary park with a beautiful beach and snorkeling options.

Best of all, every member of the staff was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. The service was brilliant and the accommodations were top notch.

I highly recommend this wonderful resort and I hope to return next Christmas!

Room Tip: Go for the upgrade and get a larger room with a better view.

We thought this was one of the most beautiful properties we've ever stayed in. If you go to Key West for the beach, then you will be disappointed. However, if you love an excellent location, friendly helpful staff members, and a breath taking view everywhere you look, then Hyatt Resort is for you. Our room, 3107 had a view of the parking lot and the gulf. However, we turned our balcony chairs so that we faced the water, and we hardly realized we didn't have a full water view. I wanted to take the shower enclosure and faucets home with me. Quite a luxury. It is very expensive to stay at Key West Hyatt, but we did feel like we, almost, got our money's worth.

The staff was great and so courteous!!!. Great great location. Close to Mallory Sq and even closer to the Boardwalk/docks/boats which I highly recommended. We did not find out about the boardwalk until about the 4th night. Very quiet considering how close it is to the party. Beach is small but a little bigger beach next to it which is public. I booked through expedia and paid for the hotel in full. However I was shocked upon checking in to find out I had to pay more for the hotel -aound $22 a day for use of the internet and gym and parking and I didn't have a car. This was another $154 for the hotel which I did not plan to spend. Then to print the boarding passes, I had to pay over $7 PER PAGE for printing. I paid over $36 to print boarding pass. Ridiculous.

We stayed here for Christmas and had a nice time. But we were not overly impressed with this hotel and frankly wish we would have stayed somewhere else. The location was good- near the marina, Duval Street, etc. Parking was free in the lot, which was also nice. We were offered an upgrade to a partial ocean-view and the room was nice. But for the price, we felt the amenities were less than impressive. Particularly, the pool area was very disappointing. The pool was small and not on the water. We ordered drinks from the server at the pool and it took more than 45 minutes to get them. When we did get them, they were full of ice. The bartender had thrown in a piece of basil or mint but hadn't even muddled it. The other problem with the pool is that it gets almost no sun. Also, our housekeeper didn't come to clean the room until after 4pm. By then, we were back and didn't want to mess with it. The staff at the reception was very friendly. But it pretty much stopped there. There was not much going on here, especially given it was Christmas. We expected more, given the Hyatt name and very expensive price. Definitely
