This was my 4th stay at the Downtown Hyatt since 2006. !st time I went during season & the hotel condition was not up to other Hyatt locations I have stayed at (Clearwater beach, Orlando, Siesta Key)The TV in the covered rec area was inoperative which was a preview of my disaster to come. The outdoor hot tub was unusable due to so much detergent & clorine it made a huge ball of suds in the middle of the tub not to mention uncleaned debris which was not removed. DON't make reservations until you see your room is in order. Sliding glass doors had either dirt or mold/mildew on the bottom track of our door. Last but not least, I would haved loved to have gotton a massage but the Jala Spa door was locked in the middle of the day. No out to lunch sign no nothing. Not even worth half of the $485 price tag. Since they are booked solid this time of year if you get a room with a missing toilet seat or a bad ac/heat unit if they cant fix it right away you can't switch rooms. Beware!

Hotel staff excellent. Housekeeping needs supervision. Location is perfect. Front street next to Mallory square where everything happens and you can see wonderful sunsets.
Duval street is great where you can drop in anywhere for a meal and listen to live music.
Most laid back place on the earth. After six visits we're not done yet.

Had a great stay for 4 nights in November. The staff were very friendly and handled anything we asked with attention to detail and follow up, really can't ask for more than that staff wise.

The property and rooms, were modern clean and spacious (see tips). There are clearly rooms with better views than others but most have a pretty decent view. The hot tub wasn't hot/working which I normally wouldn't gripe about in Key West but we had a couple cold cloudy and windy days where the pool wasn't going to cut it and the hot tub was required. The fitness studio is a bit small and there was a bit of competition with my fellow guest for equipment in the morning, but it was only really busy from 7 to 9, so if you are a late riser you need not worry.

Good Spa trip, a bit pricey, but our attendants were excellent.

The restaurant is mid to high price point, but the two dinners we had (including one where we brought our own fresh catch for the chef to prepare) were excellent. Breakfast was good but there are comparable cheaper breakfasts to be had nearby. Resto staff were very good again.

Overall not one of the cheaper properties in the area, but I would argue you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: The gulf front rooms are much more private balconies, the deluxe rooms have more space than a regular room but the view is partial.

Just spent 9 days here. The location is perfect close to the centre of town but far enough away to be quiet and have less tourist foot traffic. Next to the ocean which can make it windy when the breeze rises but nothing too extreme and very refreshing on hot days. Friendly helpful staff, clean and the food is good. From room service to the bar the food and drinks are balanced and tasty but the best is the shore restaurant for dinner. Beautiful food with attentive but not cloying staff. All in all a fantastic stay.

Spent a long weekend in mid December 2013 with several other couples to see Hot Tub Limo play at Sloppy Joe's! Front desk staff extremely polite and helpful. Our room was very clean and was cleaned each day by Clarissa who did a fantastic job. We did not upgrade to an Ocean view room, but our room had small balcony with a great side view of the water. Pool area is very clean with a nice pool side bar (Blue Majito) with big TV and comfortable seating! Great for football watching. Waiters attend to you poolside and very pleasant as well (thank you Benny). All the staff was very polite. Beach is very small and has a lot of private parties/weddings. Location is great. Walking distance to Duval, Mallory Square and the restaurants right on the water. Hotel food is expensive, but that was expected. We chose to eat at Alonso's and Boat House Bar & Grill (The Commodore). HAPPY HOUR! Both places are a short walk on the pier. Half price food and drinks. We would walk each evening and go to both places if we could. Also along the pier in between these two restaurants was the White Tarpon I think. 50 cent oysters and a deli inside that has excellent breads and deli & breakfast sandwiches. Short walk down is Conch Republic and Schooner's Wharf. Must walk to Pepe's for breakfast! A group of us went charter fishing on (Linda D IV) with Capt. Craig and caught tuna and other fish. Highly recommend Craig and mate Matt. They were professional and made sure that all caught fish and enjoyed themselves. Recommend spending the money to rent a golf cart at the hotel to tour the island. The 3 hour deal is worth it. I've been to Key West several times and the golf cart was a great way to actually see a lot of the island that you can't walk to. The only negative was wind blowing under the door of our room. A couple of nights it was very loud and woke us up. This was easily fixed with a towel along bottom of doorway. A big thank you to Colleen & Gary, gettingmarriedinkeywest.com, who recommended staying at the Hyatt and gave us insight into all the extra curricular fun! I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back!

Room Tip: Ask for room with partial view of water if possible.
