Casa Marina Key West, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

My family and I just completed a 4 day stay at Casa Marina. This historic hotel has much to offer to both families and couples. Most rooms are not as large as newer hotels but ant down side is made up by the services provided. The private beach and children friendly staff made our stay fantastic. The housekeeping staff are invisible but their work was very apparent. We will visit Casa Marina again. Jafre (front desk supervisor) is one of the best in the business.

Great location, good service, very nice garden, beach and pool area.
Rooms are relatively modern and of good quality. Ensure you do not have a room with a connecting door otherwise you can hear everything you really do not want to hear.
The Nespresso machine is a great bonus. The pool restaurant is ok but the main restaurant is a desaster. It is one big room with no charme whatsoever. There is clearly a lot of room for improvement on that front.

It was a great place and made extra special by Walter who helped us out on the beach daily. He made us feel special and set us up everyday. Thanks Walter and hopefully see you next year.

Room Tip: Try to get the main building with a water view.

For the price ... As a frequent traveler .. I would have expected a more luxurious visit. Overall the hotel is beautiful and historic. For over $400 per night, we would have expected our tv, refrigerator to have worked. What I found most disappointing is the cleanliness of the hall way ... We had peanuts outside our door, food from room service, and a used q-tip. It didn't ruin our trip ... But couldn't help to undermine the price to value ratio. Just expected a better value for the money.

This hotel which is now a Waldorf Astoria is in a great location in Key West. It is near the southern end of Duval St, but far enough to be in a quiet residential area. So you can get anywhere you want to go easily without being overwhelmed by the tourist throngs . The facility has two beautiful pools and its own beach. Other beaches in town though are more user friendly. The overall grounds are beautiful and well maintained with a restaurant and bar on the beach. They also have a rental facility for bikes and jet skis. The rooms are updated clean and comfy. I had a king city view so I looked to the street and Parking lot with a distant view of Higgs Beach. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. This hotel is not cheap but I felt it was worth it with the amenities. It does have a $25 activity fee daily per room. There is a self park across the street for. $20 a day. We parked the car and took taxis because it was $3 per person essentially anywhere on the island. I would recommend it for families or couples.

I was planning a trip to go to Key West for my birthday with friends and this seemed like the perfect palce to go. The hotel staff always made us feel like family, and the outside bar is the best place to be. The hotel staff is always cleaning which makes me feel more comfortable. The gift shop is over priced for things, but assuming its a tourists trap, people buy it. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone to go to!

Room Tip: We were given a room facing the ocean on a top floor in a one bedroom suite. Very quiet and a perfe...

We have traveled a fair amount and usually stay at 4 star or better resorts. We are a family of four with two kids under 10. We stayed in Room 3001 which is a one bedroom without a view. This is a lovely historic hotel on the beach in Key West. It is in a quieter section of the island however it is easy enough to get to the busier spots.

Pros: Natural and man made beauty surround this resort. It is in a quite location away from the rowdiness of Duval Street. There is a beach area which is a huge plus in Key West and beverage service on the beach and poolside was good. Also served complimentary popsicles in the afternoon which was a huge hit with the kids. The resort was clean and well kept. Had a late light dinner on the beach one night and the food was good.

Cons: We got delayed out of our connecting flight in Miami which meant an unexpected 4 hour drive to the resort. I called to inform the hotel that we would be late and to keep our room. As a family of four in a one bedroom suite I expected the sofa bed to be prepared when we arrived at midnight. Would have been a way to wow us a little after a long travel day. The room itself was spacious just a little rough around the edges. Couch needed to be replaced just old and worn not up to Waldorf standards. The compressor for the AC was so loud I would have preferred to be hot but my husband won that round. The water pressure on the shower was intense fine for adults a bit too much for kids and you could not adjust it. Service at dinner was slow.......real slow....did I mention that it was slow. Did not bother doing breakfast there because it would have taken half the morning and cost a fortune ($27. for breakfast buffet). Also, the lobby needs to be refreshed....it's OK but starting to look a little tattered. The pool areas and beach bars were in fine condition.

All in all we would stay again because of the location and limited amount of options at this level.

Room Tip: Pay for ocean view if it is an option. We could not get one but it would have been a lot better.
