The grounds and location are great. The common area that led to our ground floor ocean front room is in need of an upgrade. Very dark with horrible carpet) The room was spaceous, nothing special. The bathroom was old and needs updating.
Breakfast and lunch were excellent. Staff was cordial. I expected more from the room based on the price. We were there last weekend.

Room Tip: Ground floor gives you a very nice patio that you can walk out to the beach.

I rate Casa Marina an enthusiastic four out of five - we just had a very enjoyable three nights here. The main highlight is their very nice beach and two beautiful pools. It is a very peaceful setting, about 1 1/2 miles away from the main party-oriented areas of town, which is exactly what we were personally looking for (but be prepared for a lot of walking/biking if you want to go to lunch or dinner). The lobby and grounds were very beautiful, but the hallway in our building (we stayed in 394) was pretty worn. Room was comfortable and simple, pretty good but not amazing. Be prepared to be hit with a variety of additional charges (parking is $20 per day, there is a $25 "resort fee" per day (?)) but despite this Casa Marina is still significantly cheaper than many other accommodations in Key West.

Everyone and everything is geared to your relaxation and enjoyment. Rooms are spacious, clean and everything works, with the beds being super comfy. Beach and grounds are well maintained with plenty of space. Gym and spa are good with plenty of equipment and choices of treatments, albeit book early as it's busy. Location is great, everything within walking distance. Only negative; breakfast. Ordered huevos rancheros and received an omelette with some nondescript bland breakfast sausage and it took them 45min without the restaurant being busy and enquiring 4 times where it was! When the impersonation was pointed out to the waiting staff they said sorry but didn't offer an alternative or to remove it from the bill....I had to suggest no charge was a viable option which they then reluctantly agreed. Granted it was only a little thing but in a hotel of this standard not what you expect. Would I go again...yes. Would I take breakfast again...no.

Room Tip: Beach view but can be noisy

We visited Casa Marina as part of a group trip to Key West. The hotel is nicely sited in a corner of Key West. It is a Flagler Hotel, but not built until after his death, and has gone through a variety of owners and uses including being the head of Air Force operations during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Recently renovated it now operated as a Waldorf Astoria brand by Hilton. It was very disappointing. We had a standard room overlooking a parking lot with a huge amount of wasted space and not even a real chair to sit in. The floors were fake wood. The hotel is on the water and has a nice beach, but not direct access to the water because of coral along the beach line, you have to enter the water via a stair at the end of the pier. There are two nice pools and a spa and lots of service offerings.

The staff was friendly, but not very helpful. They stood by and watched as we packed up our golf bags. Much about a hotel is set up by expectations, and with the Waldorf name we expected much more. If it had been a Hilton we'd have felt differently, but it is priced like a Waldorf. We found it to be very noisy, with sound traveling up the stairs from the bar.

Room Tip: Do not take a room over the bar or ballroom, very noisy.

The hotel needs to be updated. The rooms are nice but nothing special. The lobby looks like it could stand a little paint.
The front bar on a Friday at 5 was crowded with one bartender who was VERY slow. It was just to painful waiting for her to get our drinks so we left and went to Duval St.
The food by the pool needs to be changed. Boring sandwiches that take forever to get. Service is SLOWWWWW! Drinks are okay but I have had better.
Don't think I will be returning.
