This is our eleventh year at the Casa and there have been many changes. Some good, some not so good.
Try as they might, management has not yet figured out how to be a great property. Even with an unmatched location and an historic building they can't seem to handle the basics.

Room service continues to be their Achilles heel. In the eleven years we've stayed here we have yet to get into our room at 4:00. When we finally do the room is not very clean. And housekeeping service is painfully slow.
Just spent a weekend at the Ritz Key Biscayne. Casa management should tour that property to learn how to run a true resort.

My family of four shared spring break in April of 2014 at Casa Marina. The room and property was very nice and clean. The staff was attentive and polite, especially Daniel and the other pool and beach staff. We will be back again.

Had a wonderful time when I stayed at Casa Marina. It was July 4th week end and the place was very busy. Close to the beach. A little far to walk downtown but there are transportation available if needed. Clean room with ocean view. Great service.

I went with two girlfriends in early March. We were all really let down by the stay at Casa Marina. The main building with check-in and the nicest guest rooms is very beautiful. However, what you do not see in the photos on their website is that a large portion of the rooms are in a newer western wing and resemble a motel from the exterior (shown in my photos). Inside the wing, our second floor hallway lights never worked during the day or night. The room was unimpressive, and the bathroom was in serious need of updating. The toilet seat was broken, causing it to veer to the side anytime anyone sat down, paint was chipping off the bathroom door, and the bath tub had chips missing all over and a large rust ring around its drain. In the bedroom, the bedside lamp shade had been rotated 180 degrees with the back seam showing; when we turned it back the proper way, we saw that they had done this to hide two rips on the front side. On only one day did the cleaners clean up the floor, which got pretty messy between three girls blowdrying their hair and going to the beach.

Which brings me to the outdoor area. The food and drink available on site was for the most part severely overpriced, limited in options, and mediocre. The cocktails were good. To sit around the adult pool, you need to get there early in order to reserve a chair; if someone in your party does not do this, you will not be able to get a chair for most of the day. Frustratingly, people reserve chairs and then disappear for hours (taking all their things with them), but the attendants will still not let you sit down. On their website, they show the beach in a very misleading way. It is indeed pleasant, but you cannot walk from the beach into the water due to the coral reef at the water's edge. You can walk out on the pier and get in that way, but there was a lot of debris in the water, so the option was not very appealing.

The location was fairly good although a very far walk from where one wants to go out to eat and drink at night.

Overall, one expects much, much more from a luxury resort where one is paying $450/night for a room. There are a lot of options on Key West; choose another one.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building or eastern wing, which appear to be in better shape

This makes a lovely vacation for adults. The location is amazing, the staff was very helpful and the pools are relaxing. The room was clean. The hotel could use a bit of renovation. The carpets need to be replaced in the hallways and workout room.

Room Tip: This hotel has a lot of weddings we were in the front of the hotel. If you need a quiet room keep th...

Stayed here the first week of April with my husband. Beautiful hotel, beautiful sunsets, & great food! We tried key lime pie at several of the local restaurants and I have to say that the hotel had the best of any! Well worth the calories. The spiny lobster tail was excellent as well. Having dinner out on the beach, watching the sunset, was so peaceful & gorgeous. They had a fire pit, which we weren't expecting. The sand sculptures next the fire pit are amazing! Well worth the money to have top service and a private beach.

Room Tip: Oceanview room 310

My wife and 2 daughters stayed here over the weekend and enjoyed the resort very much.
The service is top notch, especially the late night staff. my daughter was up a bit late with a cough and I called down to the front desk and the gentlemen there was more than accommodating, he went out of his way to make sure I received everything I needed. Breakfast is fantastic and the location right on the water is ideal. there is plenty to do for the whole family or if you want to just kick back and relax. Highly recommend staying in the main building than off to the side.
