“Anniversary-short 3day trip...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

Definitely need more than 3 days in Key West!!!
The hotel was beautiful! Had two pools, one for adults, the other for families. Great poolside service and loved that you could request lounge chairs for days at a time. Room was much bigger than what I had expected, we stayed in a room with an ocean view..wish it had a little more of a view, but we weren't in the room that much anyways for it to matter. Service was excellent, Nick at the front door was great, always remembered us and helped us to make food decisions by offering local suggestions! Would definitely go back!

Only small down side...the beach. There is sand and blurb water, but you can't walk from the sand into the water, you access the water from the pier. The pools made up for it and would not stop me from going back.

Room Tip: We stayed in an ocean view balcony room, room 1207. Was very quiet, no issues at all. The ocean view...

My wife and I stayed at the Casa Marina for 4 nights starting May 15th. We had a grand ocean room with a balcony and it also included the breakfast package. I was apprehensive about our trip to the hotel as i read many negative reviews about the Casa Marina. This was our first trip to Key West. The property was located on a small beach on the "quiet side" of the island. My understanding is that most of the hotels in KW do not have a beach or have a small beach.

The highlight of the stay was the breakfast buffet which was excellent. The room was clean and we loved the balcony which had 2 lounges and 2 chairs. The pool was not crowded during our stay. We also enjoyed the hammocks.

The exterior views from the hotel are excellent. The only negative during our stay was a dinner which was supposed to the Toes in the Sand that was cancelled due to wind conditions. We had dinner by the pool and we had a terrible waiter who only interacted with us to take our order and then we did not see him until the check came

Upon arrival to the Casa, we carried our bags into the lobby… Something I thought would have been done for us… But anyway… We arrived with our party, 2 other couples. It was our wedding weekend. All three rooms were not ready, and ours was suppose to be an upgraded room, since we were getting married, but our friends got it. They graciously switched with us, but all weekend, they kept getting our champagne that was complimentary and strawberries..Something that wouldn't normally be a big deal, however, it was a hassle having them bring us that stuff every night.
The second day, after we had our chocolate covered strawberries the desk sent up (for free), ANTS had invaded our room and took over the plate the strawberries had been on. We didn't put the plate outside the door of the room, so they were all over everything! Even though we were on the 3rd floor.
The resort, pool, and beach area was nice. But the bar and food in the restaurant were WAY over priced. I had some delicious peel and eat shrimp at the resort, but everything was very expensive. The grounds were clean, and on Easter Sunday the whole place got to hunt eggs with the kids, a super fun gesture. I thought we could have stayed somewhere much cheaper for what we got. With the name and price I expected much more. We still had a beautiful wedding weekend and our guests had a wonderful time, but the Casa was not for us.

While this hotel has the potential to be more with a rather scenic and expansive slice of property, the allowance of riff raff certainly does the name Waldorf Astoria a good amount of harm. Our second night at the hotel, we returned to our room after a day of boating to find 8-10 young men outside our balcony, on the beach, with a cooler and several finished cases of beer. The fact that three of them pointed up to mine and mine husband's room and asked for "a dance: iintolerable. A call to the front desk/security did no good; they were there for another couple of hours, until about 8:30pm. The following day, upon returning home, there were 10-15 extremely inebriated girls who had seemingly set up a makeshift bar complete with their own music, and bonus for all: group karaoke. (Yeesh.) Honestly, I'm not even sure how the hotel would tolerate this loss in revenue at the bar- at least a $1K tab- at a minimum- was lost today. Forget about the liability of having drunk people mixing with glass and water. (I hope they're well-insured.) The valet service was the saving grace- a wonderful bunch of guys who will hustle amongst the drunken debauchery and do it with a smile. Luckily, our room was decently large, but still, we'll probably stay on Sunset Key next time.

The beach waitress that serviced the beach today is the definition of why women make .77 cents to the dollar. I can tolerate poor service, but I can not stand rude service and that's how this women treated us today. Everything else about the hotel is decent (pool, rooms, food).

I stayed at resort for 4 nights in an oceanview balcony room. Was there for business but wife came as annivarsary was close. Hats of the staff. Manager Steve T really hooked us up nice. I dn't know why people slamthis place. I have stayed at Ritz Carltons before and this is just as nice with a great, friendly staff. The rooms are kind of basic, nothing to special but everything else was top notch.

Ocean view balcony was great. Wll worth the upgrade if you can afford it. We slept with our big sliding glass door open to hear the waves and wind as we slept. very relaxing. The resort has 2 huge beautiful pool The adult pool was key (we left our 12 and 10 year olds at home!) wait staff at the pool were freindly and attentive, not overbearing. The beach/pool boys were great. They would always find you a seat and umbrella, even if it was crawed. (I have stayed at Ritz Carltons before if you don't get to pool by 8:00 am, no way your getting a seat and pool boys do nothing to help you). The beach was very nice, had huge comfy hammocks which with the waves put you to sleep in seconds. The only downsided to beach is you could walk right in, too rocky. They have a peir (maybe 40 feet) you walk out on and you can go in, but not ideal situation.

Staff was extremely friendly and always helpful The front desk to the waters, bartenders, conciege, even the bus boys in the restaurant were always smiling and nice.

I would come back in a heart beat ... with or without my kids. Great place

Room Tip: ocean view balcony are beautiful, ask for top floor (4th floor) best view

The Casa Marina Resort used to be a Marriott product. A few years ago the Hilton (using the Waldorf goodwill) rebranded it a "Waldorf" product.
The result is unclean and over-priced rooms.
C'mon, $10 for wifi (that you can't access by the pool or the guest rooms), $3.25 self serve coffee.......and I haven't even seen what the charge will be for parking, yet.
Where's William Marriott when you need him?
Adios, Casa Marina!

Room Tip: Do not, under any circumstances, stay in the "new" section. Opt for the older rooms in the...
