“Great Hotel, really enjoyed my stay”

This hotel is the mother of all hotels. It is gorgeous and the staff are fantastic. We stayed here for 4 nights as we were moving on for the next part of our vacation.
Our room was clean and tidy and like something from a movie and the view from the balcony was unreal.
The pool was great and this is were we spent most of our time, a guy would walk around the pool and give out ice lollies which was so cute.
Parking was a bit expensive but we got a deal when we booked the holiday so it suited us.
Some lovely shops all in driving distance and great restaurants. Will be returning.

Great location, average beech, terrible food and above average prices.

Most staff are friendly and helpful, the house keeping staff make a lot of noise constantly banging the doors in the morning even after asking them to stop.

You are better off just staying in the hotel and eating and drinking out. The price is so inflated for everything $100 for 20 mins on a jet ski or go just round the corner and get a 3 hour tour of the whole island for $120 including lunch and beer.

Having said that, I would stay here again as if you have a family and want a child Friendly hotel this is the best choice.

This hotel is a step back in time. The setting is beautiful. The architecture is gorgeous. You can almost feel what it might have been like almost 100 years ago. Our room was on the back of the hotel right by the elevator. At first this worried me because oftentimes you can hear a ding every time someone uses the elevator, but this one is quiet. So we did not have the noise I had expected. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. The room was a nice size and well appointed. The bathroom was also a nice size although not updated or luxurious, but it serves the purpose. If you are looking for a Four Seasons style room you won’t find it here, but the rooms are perfectly adequate and beach style. We did not have a beach view which would have been nice but I think it kept things quiet since there are weddings and parties on the beach side. There are 2 lovely pools with a great outdoor bar and restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced for a resort. There is a beach which is great although it is rocky so not Caribbean style. Barefoot Billy’s is located right on the beach at the hotel and can hook you up with a variety of water activities. We did the sunset sail which was wonderful and highly recommended. Next door to the hotel is a great restaurant called Louie’s Backyard. Definitely worth a visit for adults (not children). The hotel is located on the quieter end of the end of the island which we liked. If you have teenagers or are looking for action you will need to catch a short cab ride. Bikes are available for rent also. There is a spa on location which is quite good. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing beachy getaway.

Our room was Ocean View, and it was lovely. One day it was not made up while we were out. After a call, it was finally made up at 4:00. The WiFi worked well. The staff was, overall, very courteous and worked to make our stay a good one. The folks on the beach were terrific. We will definitely go back, although they need to ditch the parking charge.

Although our room wasn't luxurious, it was a basic, comfortable, clean, and quiet room. The flooring was wood (or simulated wood) so it was easy to see that it was clean. The Guest Service Agent with whom we most often dealt, Stacey, was very welcoming, cheerful, and eager to be of assistance. Likewise most of the staff members were personable. The only moderately annoying thing was the evening towell replacement/turn-down service, because they always seemed to bang on the door when we were showering or getting dressed to go out for dinner. Not a big deal though. Sometimes they came back later to leave their mini chocolate bars and replace the towels, but sometimes they didn't, and consequently we ran out of dry towels one day and didn't want to go through the inconvenience of calling for a replacement set. The pool and beach areas were very nice, very relaxing, in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed sitting on the beach and enjoying the breeze and ocean view. We never had a problem having the staff set up an umbrella and chairs, although sometimes we didn't have the most ideal spot when it was somewhat crowded. However, this is not a good beach for swimming due to rocks and seaweed. The water can best be accessed by climbing down a ladder at the end of the pier, but we never tried it. Our biggest complaint by far was smokers on the beach, and we had a problem with that almost every day off and on. I really wish they'd create a smoking area at one of the far ends of the beach. It really detracted from our enjoyment of the beach. On a positive note, the beach and pool staff were great. They stopped by to hand out things like large popsicles, watermellon, the drink-of-the day, cucumbers for your eyes, and cool scented wash cloths. Mark, the manager, is a great guy with excellent recommendations for dinners where the locals go. We wish we had met him earlier in our stay. The pool was very nice and comfortable too. There's a separate pool for families with kids so as not to disturb us old folks. The hotel is well away from the noisy Duval Street scene, and since we like to walk, we didn't mind the hike to the main attractions such as Mallory Square, Hemingway's House, and Truman's Little White House. We had a great time in Key West, and all-in-all were very happy with the Casa Marina. We'd stay there again.

My had a great week full of relaxation and discovering new places in Key West. We go every year and have never ventured this side of the key. They had great places to eat. The hotel had a great breakfast by the pool. You had your choice of the family pool or the adult pool. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Room Tip: Request ocean view.

My wife and I have returned several times to this hotel over the years, including being married here in 2013. The main (original) building is stunning as are the grounds. The rooms in the original building (my favorite place to stay) can be considered on the small side but make up for it in other ways. The staff is also excellent. I cannot say enough great things about them. They have above and beyond on several occasions, including our most recent one year anniversary trip. We received an upgrade (I'm also Hilton Diamond) and had a bottle of Champagne plus chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in our room. One cannot ask for much more than this. The food has improved greatly since my last visit a year ago and is actually quite good, although pricey. Drinks are also great but, like the food, pricey. Luckily the rooms have mini-fridges.
