Nice spot to dock the boat but not for the prices they charge. Definitely not worth it. There are other available marinas in old Town that are just as good and at a better value that are more interested in your business.

We booked 14 months in advance to get here through RCI exchange. It is the best exchange I have ever had, and the most amazingly wonderful staff works here. Rooms are clean and spacious. Pool is very clean and large enough. Tiki bar is open from morning until late enough! Waterfront lounge chairs near the tiki bar along their own boardwalk area. A restaurant overlooking the marina as well as burgers, hot dogs and fish sandwiches sold at the tiki. Beach towel exchanges when the lobby is open adds so much to the experience, and front desk personnel make a point of knowing everyone! I cannot speak higher of any resort. Security is wonderful as well.

Room tip: Truly a personal choice. Look at the photos online.

We picked this resort as the location was very good. As described in other reviews, the pool area is very nice and has a great view, however, many people reserve chairs in the sun area early in the morning and the rules are not enforced by the resort. I do believe the resort is 30 years old, the attention to detail on the grounds and in the villas is not there. The villa we stayed in was a 2 bedroom, and it seemed to have been recently renovated, the kitchen and master bedroom and master bathroom. It was obvious the guest bedroom was not touched and I am glad I did not bring guests, as I would have been embarrassed to have another couple stay in the guest bedroom.

Overall, we had a very nice stay here. We spend most of our time out and about in Key West.

Just stayed at the Galleon. Great location (there is a drawback) near the action and room was very nice. Has a tine beach. should be called a lane to the water and not a beach. Because you are in town and not near the beach you must have access to a pool to enjoy your stay. The Galleon has a nice pool as you can see in pictures, but if you want to be in the sun, you cannot get a seat by the pool. Most of the properties are owned by people with timeshares. The owners go out by 7AM and put towels on chairs to reserve the chairs for the day. As a result, all chairs you would want are unavailable for the entire day. And the public beach is on the opposite side of town is totally inconvenient. Do yourself a favor and do not stay at this property unless you want to play the game every morning of snagging chairs. It's actually rude especially when the owners have a sign at the pool saying not to leave your towels on chairs to reserve them. Our family was on vacation. If you cannot use your pool to relax in the sun on a hot day in Florida, why would you ever want to stay at this property?

We love the location of the Galleon more than anything else. It has been newly refurbished and is very large for a unit in the Keys. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a lot of storage room. The a joining bathroom has a separate toilet are(small but enough) the shower bath area is newly retiled with marble counter tops, three shower heads and a Jacuzzi tub for lingering in after a long day of playing. The living area is very nice with new couch, loveseat and chair on an easy to care for tile floor. The staff does a great job of cleaning each unit weekly with touch up and clean sheets on Wed. Of course it is not perfect but for a nearly 30 year old building it is not bad. Parking is tricky sometime but again cars have gotten bigger since the garage was built. The views, bar area, pool, hot tube area all nicely kept with good staff doing a very good job. I would suggest staying away from Building G and the lock-outs are small with no view, so take the plunge and rent a one bedroom/two bedroom unit and you will not be disappointed!!! We love the marina view is spectacular!!!!! We started with one week ownership and now have three weeks----one of the best things we have ever done for ourselves. See Elsie

Room tip: Remember, you always find what you are looking for----good or bad, so EXPLORE.. Visit the Tropic theater for a movie--lots of fun.
