I stayed here two nights in mid-February '13 and had been there a year earlier also.
Dont expect to reach them by phone -- all I got was a machine and no return call. The voice tells you they have lunch from 12:30-1:30. When I arrvd at 1:45, a sign in the office window said they're out until 2:30, and the large message board nearby says the office is open 24 hours/day.
Try to avoid them at Spring Break. Prices are higher and if the less expensive bunks are full your alternative is a room in the affiliated motel, at around $160/night last year.
They are close to 'downtown' KW. in a residential neghborhood. Like most hostels, you take your chances with bunkmates. Some are thoughtful and have figured out they are not the only guests, others dont know how to use lowered voices, turn out lights, and close doors quietly. Quiet hours are supposed to be after 11PM, but for a touring biker after 50 miles on the Rt 1,
loud conversation is not what's needed.
That all said, I'd use them again, with trepidation and high hopes.
