“Great stay - nice rooms, friendly staff and free breakfast.”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We stayed at the Orchid Key Inn for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was a good size, nicely updated with a separate bedroom area. The staff were friendly and the inn provided two free drink coupons upon arrival and a free continental breakfast the next morning. The location was very convenient; we were able to leave right from our room and walk along Duval Street. We did find parking was a little tight in the parking lot for the inn but the staff were very accommodating and moved another vehicle (theirs perhaps?) to another spot to make room for us. We would have liked to stay longer and would definitely stay here again if we were back in the Florida Keys.

This was our first trip to Key West and we loved it. So glad we stayed here. It was close to everything but yet quiet and very relaxing! The poolside bar is perfect. Great drinks and bar staff. Be careful of those cosmos though!

Top notch service...friendly and helpful. Laid back little hotel perfect for relaxing after days (and nights) experiencing Key West. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Never slept better. Bathrooms especially well-appointed. I even thought the landscaping was wonderful!

Room Tip: My room 116 was very quiet. Seems that side of pool all had quiet rooms.

Right on the corner of Duval and Truman...it is totally modern motel that still retains the quaintness of its prior self....rooms are cleaner that clean...it has a tiny little bar that attracts locals...if you stayed a week or two would probably have enough material to write a novel...all the staff are friendly and the motel shows off ample attention to detail....cold breakfast is featured in the bar daily; so you can get a yogurt, danish or hardboiled egg to start the day....we couldn't get into the Marquesa; so we stayed here....enjoyed it more than the Marquesa and the Marquesa is one of my favorites beyond just Key West....

Tucked into the palms at the intersection of Duval and Truman, the Orchid Key is right where you want to be in Key West, within walking distance of wherever you set out to go and all of the other places you were didn't, but were glad you found along the way. It's an oasis, with a crystal clean pool and laid-back cocktail-sipping people chilling to an adult contemporary sound track.

Key West is a vibrant and busy place, but when you want the bustle to fade, all you have to do is slide your card key and disappear into your tastefully appointed, abundantly supplied and super-clean room at the Orchid Key. Coming home after sweaty sojourns on the sunny streets of Key West, our room's AC felt like a snowman's hug and we slept like royalty each night.

Particular kudos go to the front desk staff, especially Kim, who was so patient, so friendly and so eager to help us make our getaway all it could be. Kim would make any place in the world better. She is the bag of chips.

The cleaning staff is great- they seem to float in and out of the rooms like elves, because we neither saw nor heard them, but each day our room was tidy and restocked. The breakfast was complimentary, but not skimpy, with fresh juices and pastries and other continental components kept at the ready. The breakfast staff is cordial- and even magical, depending on the day of the week. One of the very sweet women behind the counter on our first morning was especially gracious, a delightful little sprite of a person who looked all of about 60, but to be 84! Perhaps Ponce de Leon did find the Fountain of Youth, after all.

The only issue we had during our stay was a brief "diva moment" with the bartender at Happy Hour one evening. But, hey, that's part of the flavor of Key West, too, so no worries.

In all, Five Stars (and 6-toed cats :-D) to the Orchid Key!

My husband and I stayed for three days at Orchid Key Inn. We usually stay at small boutique hotels, and after researching we decided on Orkid Key Inn! This place is DELIGHTFUL! While booking (in advance) I had several questions about things to do, restaurants, location etc. and within minutes of my sent email I received the information I requested! Check-in was easy and all staff were very friendly and helpful! The place was clean, updated and location was right on Duval Street! It was quiet and convenient! The continental breakfast was more than muffins and coffee! Many options to choose from! Happy hour was so nice and personal! This place is first class and if I were going to Key West, this is where I would stay!

Orchid Key is the place to stay in key west! This was our second year coming down to the keys and we loved our stay once again. We love the proximity to everything on Duval street, the pool, breakfast in the morning, happy hour, and the warm feeling you get from the staff. Everyone makes you feel right at home. They even start serving drinks by the pool in the afternoon which is very nice. Mike has retired but the new bartenders are great and have the best vodka I've ever had - pineapple infused vodka! It was so yummy I can't wait to go back for some more. This year our room was a bit smaller. Last year we had the honeymoon suite which was much larger and a bit nicer so you may take that into consideration when booking a room. Next year we will definitely be back and book earlier so we can get the honeymoon suite and this time we might actually be celebrating our honeymoon for real! Thanks for another great stay Orchid Key!
