This hotel is in a great location and it is nice that this hotel shares its amenties with its other hotels in the area, it gives the guest lots of options for different pools and bars. The hotel offers bike rentals as well!

I used tripadvisor to do my research to find a hotel in Key West and it payed off. After reading all of the reviews, I chose Southernmost on the Beach. The property is lovely and the rooms are large, pretty and very clean. I was sorry to leave, but I will be back!

We stayed for four days in early January 2014. Very nice visit - service was very good, room condition excellent, lots to do in the whole "Southernmost Complex" (there are four places to stay - somewhat confusing on website, etc, and has its own restaurant, bar, beach, activities) but for the price (~$500+ / night), it felt a bit too big and less upscale than I might have expected.

If you have a family or a small group, or just want to hang by the pool and beach, this is a probably the spot for you - we tend to prefer smaller places with more personality then size. Location as described elsewhere is at the South end of Duval which is fine but you will need to walk (stumble?) several blocks if you want to hit the main tourist spots on Duval. Get a bike, great way to get around.

The Inn and its neighbors were all decked out for Christmas - the lights and street wreaths were beautiful and go a long way to providing a nice holiday feel in the tropics.

All this said, the service was good - helpful and knowledgeable concierge for local activities, they accommodated our late check out request, had bikes on location to rent and many other things to offer. Its a great spot to catch the daily sunset spectacle - superb views to the west with lots of railing and pier space to watch and daily acoustic music to accompany the viewing.

Very good visit, but we will probably stay at a smaller Inn next time.

Room Tip: We were in the new A wing - we had a balcony ocean view room which was partly that, as are many of t...

This was our third time in Key West but our first time in this hotel (previously stayed in Southernmost Hotel). Booked an Ocean view balcony king room as a treat for Christmas and we were not disappointed. When we tried to check in, the computer systems were down so the receptionist sent us to sit at the bar with a voucher for a free cocktail. When we did get checked in the receptionist was brilliant and helpful. Room was fantastic, both the room and bathroom were huge. Room was clean and the two bottles of chilled water in the fridge on arrival were appreciated. Having a balcony looking out to the ocean was amazing. Spa - went for a pedicure and found the staff to be really nice and friendly. Enjoyed the treatment and felt pampered. Pineapple bar was our favourite out of the two bars as it was a bit quieter around the pool. Staff at the bar were great and always made sure your glass was full. Try the cocktails that are the specials of the day, I was never disappointed. Restaurant - had both breakfast and dinner here a couple of times and the food and staff were excellent. Great view, sitting overlooking the beach enjoying a meal. Location is great at the bottom of Duval Street and close to everything. Cannot fault this hotel and hope to go back, But prices have drastically increased under the new owners which may encourage us to look elsewhere in Key West.

My Wife and I decided to take a chance and book a weekend trip here. We are in our 30's and travel regularly all over the country and Caribbean. We have stayed in Key West numerous times(Hyatt, La Conche Hotel, and Westin.) We prefer to stay at the more preferred resorts anywhere we travel within reason especially when we go someplace tropical. We were excited to stay here after reading the reviews for this resort. When we arrived I have to say the front desk people here need to up there customer service presentation and follow through. (Word of advice to front desk) Don't look at younger couples thinking they have no money to spend. Staying at your hotel should be a sign we are testing it out and may come back if we have a good experience! You are there to cater to us guests because we are paying to stay at your resort... The resort grounds and rooms are nice although Ocean View is horrible(request Ocean Front). However, here are our grievances: Why would you give us a room that was ready which in fact it was not when we got to room? 45 minutes later the maid(didnt speak English) finished it? Does it really take 45 minutes to clean a room? The hotel was not busy at all... You should of given us another room after we called the front desk from our cell phone and not brushed us off by throwing us free drink passes. Don't keep telling us to order more drinks and go to the restaurant here. Your Drinks and Food here are not good compared to the local restaurants outside of your resort. We were renting a moped for the time we were there, don't tell us to rent from you when you send us elsewhere because you receive a commission from a some moped company a mile away. The mopeds across the street at A&M mopeds are cheaper and you get a better deal for the time you are there.

Shark Bites is a local breakfast and Ice cream place across street which is excellent for a quick bite in the morning.

Fletcher guy on small beach who runs local activities and chairs on the beach attached to hotel is a nice guy.

Overall we liked the grounds and inside the rooms but its not the best for the money you spend. Also word of advise, Please don't call the room when a guest is packing there luggage to get ready to check out and say " Check Out Time is now", Remember our room wasn't even ready from the beginning! Very Rude and Inconsiderate coming from the front desk. There are numerous reasons why you should take a course in customer service and implement it to your employees at the Front Desk. One last thing, If you want more guests to come back to your hotel Please treat others the way you would like to be treated on vacation.

Would I stay here again? Maybe but Hyatt is classier and more customer savy.....

Room Tip: Stress you want Ocean front our close to Ocean Front otherwise you will be staring at other people a...

We stayed at the Southernmost on the Beach in Nov. 2013. The hotel is at the quiet end of Duval St, but within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The hotel is clean and our room appeared recently renovated. We booked a room with an ocean view. We were on the second floor over the parking lot and next to the pool. We were initially concerned about noise in this room, but it was not a problem. I might choose a lawn room next time although they do not have private balconies.
The pool was clean and the staff conduct many activities throughout the day. It is a fun place to be with a group. Overall, the staff was friendly and accommodating.
I would recommend this hotel.

The ocean front rooms at this resort are heavenly, and some of the ocean view rooms are just as good (especially building C). Cost a bloody fortune in season but that's the price you pay. Returned to find the resort was under new ownership. Still just as gorgeous, great service, too. Top notch. Wish we could stay longer.
