“A Tropical Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2010

I have been to Key West many times, but this trip was the first time staying at the Hyatt Beach Resort. What a fabulous facility! Our unit was beautifully appointed and had the added bonus of a large screened in porch for morning coffee. Just about everything you could possibly need was provided in the unit from beach towels to all cooking needs (if you feel inspired to cook) to shampoo. The beds were the heavenly. The pool area featured a man-made beach with padded lounge chairs. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and extremely well maintained. Every member of the Hyatt staff that we interacted with was friendly, efficient, informative and customer service oriented. The only drawback is there is no restaurant, however there is a nice bar/restaurant and tiki bar at the facility next door and its a short walk across the parking lot. Looking forward to a return trip.

I would recommend this Hyatt to anyone--it has a beautiful white sand beach, pool, is on the water, and is only a $10 cab ride to downtown Duval. The rooms are beautiful, we stayed in a 2/2--the master bedroom had 2 large sinks, a roman tub and shower, and the couch pulls out. It was only $250/night because we stopped at one of those tourist information centers and the woman there booked us.

Just make sure to feed the stray cats there, and although shy, they're sweet!

This hotel was very nice inside and had a wonderul screened in porch and worked out well with our group because it slept 6 comfortably with 2 bathrooms. However we would not recommend this hotel becuase we were mislead on what was on the property. according to the wesite there was an array of water activities including a beach on property site. when we arrived there were none of these things and it was the furthest hotel from downtown key west. The staff at the hotel even agreed with us that they were false advertising what was at the property. all of these things was at a different hyatt location. Very nice hotel but please be aware if you want these things and be close to downtown seeing as the parking is around $10 everytime you go down there dont stay at this property.

The hotel is fine but basic for American standards no bar or restaurant on the site. Very small beach which really not worth swimming in as sharp stones underfoot.
The room was fine but small for hyatt vacation club standards, Cleanliness not good we ran the Jacuzzi as soon as we turned it on a load of pubic hair spurted out really don't know when it was cleaned last! Beds also very soft too soft for anyone with back problems.I won't be going back. Wish i'd taken pictures at the time to show people considering this hotel.

This was our second time at the Hyatt Beach House Resort and it is simply the best family resort in Key West. Everyone at the Front Desk was great, Housekeeping is always in the lookout to make your stay extremely comfortable and maintenance is always working hard to keep this property in excellent shape. Thank you all again for a great vacation and we will definitely go back next year.

Just got home from Key West with my family. I can't say enough positive things about the Hyatt Beach House Resort. Everyone was very friendly as soon as we walked in the door. We were able to check in early, thankfully, since we'd been traveling for such a long time.

The condo was large enough for my husband & I, and our 3 kids ( ages 4, 10, & 13 ). The kitchen area was well stocked ( a grocery store just down the street ). The rooms were clean. Housekeeping was quick to bring us any extras we required. The BBQ area was great for preparing the main course for dinners. Having a washer/dryer in the room was perfect!

We liked the location as well. We are just far enough from Duval St. and the downtown so that we had peace and quiet. However, we were only a short drive from all of the attractions Key West has to offer.

A lot of people complain about the "beach area" not really being a beach. If you ask me, it's just right when you have young children to tend to. There's plenty of sand for making castles, & you don't have to worry about the possible hazards of having young children at the ocean. Best of all, the pool is perfect for kids of all ages. I was able to sit in the water, comfortably, with my 4 year old while she splashed around. Both of us felt very safe with this set up. My older kids were in the "deep" end and I was close enough to keep an eye on them as well. (They have beach towels available too. Less to pack! )

My only wish is that the vacation lasted longer! Key West is by far the best place to just sit back an RELAX and Hyatt Beach House Resort is the perfect place to hang you hat while in the Keys!

Went to the Hyatt Beach House Resort in Key West May 2010. We rented a convertible in Miami, drove through the keys, which was fun, and arrived at the resort. It's a great place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet and not much to do. It's a low-key relaxing resort that's super small and doesn't offer much to do. If that's what you are looking for, than this is the place for you. There's nothing to criticize really about the resort, other than the small tv's and furniture in the rooms (very used). There was also no swim bar or restaurant on site. Each room offers a screened deck, which is GREAT. We used this every night/morning. We also enjoyed the huge jacuzzi tubs in the master bedroom and grilled a lot of fresh fish/peelneat shrimp from the local store. As far as Key West is concerned, we weren't that impressed. The nice part about the island is no matter where you stay, everything is convenient due to the size of the island. However, I would stay close to Duval St. if I had the choice just due to the fact that this is the only thing to really do on the island. Duval St. offers nice shopping and great restaurants. But the beaches/water were a huge disappointment and there's seriously nothing to do here unless you like to fish, which there are a ton of charter's to do so. I wouldn't pay the $200 to snorkel here either. One of the locals who ran a snorkel charter said if you've snorkeled the Virgin Islands, this would be a waste of money, which we have. If you have traveled to several beaches all over the Caribbean, you'd be disappointed coming here. Save your money and hit the Virgin Islands...WAY better, nicer, more to do, greater scenery, and the beaches are amazing, as is the sailing, snorkeling, etc. Key West doesn't offer much. Wouldn't go back unless all I want to do is sit around or drink all week. I was reading from other reviews that this place is "tropical." They haven't traveled much.
