Just got back from a week at this beautiful resort. The grounds were immaculate and the staff super friendly- especially at Abbey Road! It is located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but that was not an issue. We rented bicycles and had a ball cruising around. Highly recommended!

Overall, the Hyatt Windward Pointe was an excellent hotel/resort. The room furnishings were updated with stainless kitchen appliances, granite countertops, and comfortable pillow top beds. The location, however, is not very walkable to downtown Key West and transportation by vehicle will cost at least $5 per person for each one way trip into town. The hotel does provide a shuttle, but this also costs $5 both ways. We actually ended up renting bikes which was a very enjoyable way of getting around the island from the hotel. The pool and hot tub areas at the resort were very well maintained and views to the ocean were terrific as well. Although it's adjacent to Roosevelt Blvd. and the airport, we didn't find noise to be an issue whatsoever. This hotel was everything we hoped for and everyone in our party agreed they would return if given the opportunity.

We live in Florida, visit Key West often and have stayed at the Windward Pointe property on a number of times; the last visit last August with our grown kids and grandson. I have been meaning to write a review and decided to look at others before completing mine. After reading some of the comments, I decided to change my approach and offer my two bits. The Windward Point location is much quieter and relaxed than those located in Old Key West. Yes, the airport is nearby, but it's never been an obvious problem for us and quite frankly we could not hear the planes inside the room, nor could we hear neighbors' "normal" activities. At our last stay, I did complain because of late evening loud noises coming from a neighboring unit, likely the result of too many margaritas; management took care of the matter. I personally prefer the Old Key West properties because you are within walking distance of most attractions; the Pointe, on the other hand, offers beautiful scenery, the grounds are kid friendly, is more relaxed than properties close to Duval & Mallory Square, and has free parking. Surely folks will find drawbacks with the property (I have previously objected when we were given rooms with deferred maintenance issues), but noise has not been one. And the staff is generally helpful.

Windward Pointe was a lovely resort....the condos were comfortable and well equipped but are beginning to show wear. We were there for seven days and enjoyed Key West. There are complaints of the airport's proximity in other reviews but the planes really weren't bad. Do plan to rent a car as getting to town or the grocery store would be expensive otherwise. There is a shuttle but it only runs in the afternoon and not until evening on the return.....$5 each way per person. Windward Pointe should really reconsider this. Staff, with the exception of the concierge, was nice, helpful and accommodating. Do not plan to eat on site very often as the only restaurant is Abby Road....poolside grill and bar....friendly staff but pricy and food was not very good. There are too many other options....unfortunately away from the resort.

Pool is nice and grounds are well kept...overall, relaxing.

Just wrapped up a 5-night stay at this property, and everything was absolutely great! The size and layout of the unit was perfect for my wife and I, and the two kids. A great view as well! The grounds and pool were very well taken care of, and the kids got plenty of use out of the pool and really enjoyed it. Housekeeping stopped by each day ready to clean the unit, so no issues there either. The ONE drawback that I can see which could be a bother for people is the location next to the airport. Yes, you can definitely hear the planes during the day, but if you're like us and out and about during the day, it isn't much of an issue.

We had very little interaction with the front desk staff, other than checking in and checking out, but when we did, the service was great. I also called on our last night to request a late checkout the next morning, which was taken care of. During our check-in process, I also got loads of information on area activities and attractions from the concierge, and some great discounts on local dining as well.

Oh, and if you're looking for the beach, Smather's Beach is a short 3-4 minute drive down the road, Higgs Beach is less than 10 minutes away, and Fort Zachary Taylor State Beach (the best one) is about 15 minutes away.

Overall, it was a great stay, and we would definitely stay there again if we return to Key West!

This place is great! The property is beautifully kept. The staff were all very helpful. We rented a two bedroom condo and couldn't have been happier. The only drawback is it's distance from downtown, but it is only about a $16 cab ride from all the action. Not bad at all!

Arrived on a Sunday for a 2 night stay. Within steps of the airport ... which made the noise level not relaxing. The room is nice although the resort needs to be in a different location! Overlooking the pool and seeing the ocean is nice if you look past A1A which separates the two. Listening to the airplanes or the cars as background noise. No beach... no information on the area at check-in or activities. The housekeeping came in and refreshed the towels and did not make the bed! The time-share presentation... if you can call it a presentation, lacks professionalism. When we left on an early morning flight the lobby was closed until 7am so unable to check out. Not a relaxing resort in my opinion. Was not impressed and don't think I would return.

Room Tip: Definitely a top floor with a corner room seems to be best.
