to really enjoy key west the best place to stay is the Ambrosia House! With it welcoming and eager staff and beautiful scenery this bed and breakfast is a sheer delight. Located close engough to the town that you don't have to walk miles to get the bars but far enough away to feel calm and tranquil in the jungle like atmosphere. With delicous breakfasts and wonderous rooms this bed and brerakfast should be number one!! To fully enjoy your expericence at Key west staying at the ambrosia house is deffinatly your best bet!!!

What a nice little place! Warm water pools, fresh smelling rooms, large stand-up shower (in poolside rooms), very warm hospitality, and friendly guests. All right downtown only a block and a half from Duval Street. There's not a negative aspect to our stay here. Highly recommended!!

My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Ambrosia Too Poolside room. It was heavenly!!! The room was clean, decorated nicely, and the service outstanding. Breakfast buffet was poolside in the morning with warm muffins, bagels, fresh fruit, cereal, hardboiled eggs, etc. both delicious and plentiful. The staff was extremly helpful and would go out of their way to please. The whole experience put you in the "Key West state of mind." We look forward to next year with the only difference being we will stay longer to absorb more of paradise at Ambrosia Too!!!!!

We thought we were incredibly fortunate as "walk-ins" to discover that the Ambrosia had exactly one vacancy for exactly the three nights we were looking for. We were given the Aligator Suite, just a few steps up from the warmly heated lap pool, and with our own private outside veranda. We thought we had stumbled upon a little paradise in Key West. One evening we enjoyed a candlelit (candles provided) dinner at our little outside table, with gourmet provisions bought at the wonderful market two blocks away. Ambrosia thoughtfully had stocked the room with wine opener, real wine glasses, plates and basic utensils. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, the air conditioning was whisper quiet, the little frig made no noise, the large TV tucked away in a wooden cabinet worked perfectly, the room was kept spotlessly in order by unseen elves, and the surrounding neighborhood provided fascinating architectural gems. We never moved our car from the moment we checked in, until the time for us to leave.

Just returned from a stay in Ambrosia Too. We were greeted by Tina and Lucky the dog as we were old friends. We stayed in Zeke's Retreat, a lovely suite nestled in the corner next to the bird sanctuary with a private patio. The suite was clean and comfortable, the staff incredible, and yet we were just two blocks from the hub of activity. Ben was fantastic at recommending activities and restaurants. We loved Blue Heaven and Louie's on the Waterfront, skip Pisces (overpriced, pretentious, not the Key West style!) We danced the night away, heard some great music at Virgilio's and the seedy Green Parrot. My friends and I are already planning a return trip.

To experience the quintessential charm of Key West, I highly recommend Ambrosia. It's location on Fleming Street is wonderful. Duval is a couple blocks away, with all the shops, bars, entertainment and bustle. Fleming is a mix of private homes, with a few other guesthouses, creating some very interesting foot and bicycle traffic of folks going to and from Duval. The atmosphere is reminiscent of my home town, where people smile, nod and say "hi" - including the locals sitting on their front porch or watering their front yard landscape. Ambrosia fits perfectly into the neighborhood charm.

Have you ever experienced a hotel with a tired and surly staff that seem about as happy as a passenger in a life boat at the end of the Titanic? Forget about all of that when you arrive at Ambrosia.

When I arrived at Ambrosia and stepped into the office (Ben & Tina staff the office), Ben smiled and seemed genuinely happy to see me and show me my room. But that's not all, Tina and every other staff person was the same way! Not just polite, but friendly greetings, conversation and sincere smiles.

I stayed in a poolside room in Ambrosia Too. Ambrosia is actually two properties. Ambrosia on one side of Fleming and Ambrosia Too on the other side. My room had full glass doors leading to the pool area and courtyard. I loved the atmosphere because it was easy to chat or get acquainted with other guests and just as easy to maintain my privacy or quiet time, as I chose.

If you're considering lodging options for your visit to KW and have never stayed in a B&B/guesthouse or may have had a prior dissappointment, I can tell you that I was 100% satisfied with my 4 night stay at Ambrosia.

First time to the Keys and the bonus was staying at Ambrosia House. We stayed in the Sailfish suite with possibly the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in while travelling. The suite is a little more $$, but well worth it. Large living room and bedroom and a veranda to relax on with a glass of red. Location makes it possible to walk to all of the sights - Mallory Square, Duval Street, Hemmingway House, Nancy's Secret Garden. The staff recommended Cafe Sole which was a real find and a short walk from Ambrosia. Also, we recommend the Butterfly conservatory. It's enchanting and unlike anything you have ever experienced. If you like the huge mega-hotels, then Ambrosia is not for you. If you want to feel special and stay in an authentic Key West Inn, then by all means stay at Ambrosia.
